Rockwell RW9157 Replacement Screw, Flange and Allen Key for Sonicrafter Tool

Purchased this as a backup in case the original is lost and my tool is unusable because I could not connect blades.

Rockwell SoniCrafter RW9157 Accessory Fastening Kit

I purchased this kit due to my bad habit of losing small tool parts.

The kit consists of a metric flathead allen/hex mounting screw, matching allen/hex key/tool and two (2) mounting flanges. No instructions are included with the kit.

The kit works perfectly for mounting an accessory to the SoniCrafter.

However, for whatever reason (?), the allen/hex key/tool and the corresponding key hole in the screw is a different size than the tool included with the SoniCrafter.

I'll say it again, the kit works perfectly for mounting an accessory to the SoniCrafter.

The problem is the allen/hex key/tool provided is considerably smaller in diameter than the tool included with the SoniCrafter and consequently will not stay attached to the key/tool holder built into the SoniCrafter power cord.

So...I'm back to my bad habit of losing small tool parts...

Also, the kit comes with two (2) mounting flanges. One is identical to the flange that is included with the SoniCrafter. The other flange is of a slightly different design and its use is a mystery (?).

I bought this tool and I like it a lot. Before owning this rockwell saw I had purchased the cordless made by Bosch which I was totally unsatisfied since the battery life was so short.Anyway the designed on this Rockwell saw is amazing but, I agree with the other reviews the flange and screw are not desinged sturdy enought and with the vibration the place where the blade sits flat is to shallow so blade keeps coming off. After blade coming loose it becomes a frustrating task since the screw wasRockwell RK5101K SoniCrafter Tool Kit, 37-Piece strip from thightening so much. I wish Rockwell will consider a better locking mechanism perhaps keyless. Although if people use this saw once on a while on only for soft casing,baseboards this is the tool you are looking for. I have done plunge cuts on 2x4, 2x6 and this saw has enought power to get the job done. I guess I have to buy a new screw and flange.

I call the company and they have great customer service they send me a new screw except they forgot to send the flange and the screw I got is different size than the original.
Bummer!! I guess gonna have to buy a third set.

Since the original fried out, I bought this unit which has even a smaller allen head then the original, is made of soft steel and nearly failed on contact. The Sonicrafter is a great tool, however this is the weakest link, made weaker. Not for heavy use, weekend only.

There is not much to say about this product except that it does the job that is intended. It fit and screwed in firmly.

I bought this when buying the Sonicrafter tool for my husband for Christmas. He loved the idea of having a spare.

I had to search longer than I wanted for this part. It is the perfect replacement part for my Sonicrafter. I need to order another set to keep as a spare because no other parts or quick fixes will work as a substitute for these parts. Paul the Handyman.

I bought this because I lose these things all the time - weird thing is it is not the same size as the one that came with the tool originally (which by coincidence also fit my sawzall) Since I lost it I decided I would just buy this one and pay the premium price, instead of just figuring out what size allen tool I needed and buying one at Home Depot. So now I have an extra but it doesn't fit either tool? The saving grace is they do send you a new screw as well, which does fit the new allen wrench.
