5.0 out of 5 stars Buy these without fear
Ok I purchased a pair of these. I work my butt off and live in North Dakota. During the day I work in an electrical shop so I am indoor and these are sharp enough looking that I can pull my pants over them and they look fairly dressy, then at night I work constuction outside. These guys are the best boots I have ever bought. The leather is very thick to touch and feel...

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap knockoff boots.
These are not real Rocky boots, or rather, they're not the same boots I've been buying for years. i ordered this pair wondering how they had managed to cut the price of the boots by half. I don't know if Rocky has started exporting their production to China, but the quality of this boot certainly reflects no quality manufacturing at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy these without fear, November 4, 2010
Ok I purchased a pair of these. I work my butt off and live in North Dakota. During the day I work in an electrical shop so I am indoor and these are sharp enough looking that I can pull my pants over them and they look fairly dressy, then at night I work constuction outside. These guys are the best boots I have ever bought. The leather is very thick to touch and feel very durable. They have gotten wet over countless times and the color and shape has held up. In fact the leather is so thick it really holds the boots together for all the abuse you give em. Having the toe cop really helps keep the boot together. I would say they are really worth the money. Just to think of it I sometimes wear these in my heavy metal band "Kill the Sky" and I move all around and they have lasted through it all. Every single pair of demonia boots I bough fell appart after about 6 months. These guys are going 2 years strong. Have no fear when you buy these. well worth the money

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected for the price, May 25, 2010

I'm a law enforcement officer and have ordered Rocky boots in the past. Honestly the $50-60 Magnum's I've had in the past are built better. I've had several different boots including Danner Acadia's and the 5.11 HRT boot. Although the Danner's are not as comfortable for summer wear, the durability is much preferred.

These boots have pretty shoddy construction and I would recommend buying a different boot. I instantly put a pair of athletic gel soles to replace the original sole as they just weren't comfortable. Highly recommend the 5.11 HRT boot as they feel like an athletic shoe and are great for a duty boot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Price Is Higher Then What Quality May Suggest, but They Last, April 9, 2010
Cheap Rocky boots come with there cons, but these aren't terribly bad. They are comfy, they've lasted me for a very long time, haven't had any material falling off etc. Only damage done so far, after countless miles traveled, is purely superficial. Peeling effects and scuffing around the toe, and an inch of the shoe lace has thinned a bit (doesn't cause any problems). I just keep using kiwi boot wax to hide there age, had I made this choice earlier they'd probably look a lot better.

The zipper is convienant, makes getting them off a lot faster and making sure they are tight. Two buttons for each flap only secure them even more. Not the finest materials, but they do there job.

I wear these more often then any shoe/sneaker, and they still continue to hold. Kinda pricey for a lesser quality boot. Anyways, no real problems to be found, if they were cheaper I'd continue to buy these. For the name they carry you'd expect a bit more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what they used to be but....., January 4, 2012

I've been prison guard for 17 years and have gone through lots of boots over the years. I had a pair of these Rocky's years ago and was quite pleased with them. Having just ordered these, I'm a little wary of them. Rocky looks to have cut some corners on quality. The sole still looks rugged and durable, but the leather is thinner than what they used to be. I'm not sure how well these will hold up. You get what you pay for with boots. For $114, you're not getting the quality of a Danner or Red Wing boot. Still, I expected a bit more based on what Rocky USED to turn out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky Boots, December 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These boots fit a little tight and the shoe strings were very short and lacked any more than 4 inches to tie them off once the boots were laced all the way up. The inserts were for a smaller pair of Rocky boots. The boots I ordered were 11 D, the inserts were for 9 C. I think it had to be a mix up some place or perhaps the boots were not new and had been sent back and different inserts placed in them. The boots seem to run very small for the size I am used to wearing when size 11 are expected. The boots arived on a day of snow and I had no other shoes to wear, so I kept them. Since ordering them, they have streched a bit, but if I do not wear them every day they shrink back down to very tight. The zipers on the side are beginning to stick and jam up also. If the zippers malfunction in less than a year I will send the boots back and request a refund rather than expect another pair. They are shiny and have very thick souls and you can stand and be active all day long on them and not suffer feet or back problems like when wearing other boots. Since ordering and wearing them every day, there is no show of any wear on the souls nor the heal as with most boots. If the zipper last, then these boots might wear for 5 to 8 years, the way they are currently wearing. Maybe my feet will shrink a bit, or perhaps in a year the boots and my feet will get along and fit very nicely together. THESE ARE NOT ANY WAY WATER PROOF AND YOU SHOULD EXPECT WATER IN THEM IF YOU STEP INTO A SHALLOW PUDDLE. THEY ALSO ARE NOT SAND PROOF. I EXPECT THE ZIPPER ADDS TO THE WATER AND THE DIRT THAT FILLS THEM UP. If a medical need arises while wearing these boots, they will zip down but they are so tight that they will still need to be sergicly cut from the foot. You can not just slip them off. It is a chore to get the things off and on, even when totaly un laced. It is the design and shape of the boot that once they are on your feet, they are going to stay on your feet. They are very comfortable boots. ALL DAY AND NIGHT LONG. Often I wear no socks, because the socks tend to slide down to the toe, even though the boots fit tight. They are great with out socks but your feet will get cold, even in hot weather, they will add to hyperthermia if you go with out socks. I recomend wool socks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rocky Paraboot, April 10, 2011
These boots are crap.
Cheap leather and uncomfortable as You could imagine.
Wore mine once so far and it was an exercise in extreme pain.
Got mine for an Airsoft game and halfway through my feet and ankles were screaming to the point I didn't know if I would be able to drive home with them on.
After 3 hours of game time,my paraboots have nicks and scratches that I cant even polish out.
I feel sorry for anyone that tries to work in them, these are just that bad.
