This soundtrack is different from the first four, as the majority is not instrumental. It captures the essence of the movie and Rocky's return to the streets. Some good hip-hop tunes, such as Keep It Up, but the real reason to buy it is The Measure Of A Man by Elton John. This song fits so well into the whole saga of the life of Rocky Balboa(as well as many of us every-day people) and is a great farewell to, in my opinion, the best series of movies of all-time(yes, better than Star Wars).

We should all be lucky that this CD is going for what it is, last time I checked this spot, the Rocky V CD was going for a lot more and I mean a lot more, but on to the review. Rocky V is not a score only CD, in fact it doesn't have any instrumental tracks. Except for the great Elton John track and very little singing throughout, it's a rap exclusive soundtrack. I'm not much of a reviewer but I recommend this if you like rap, are a fan of highly charged music, or a fan of all the Rocky films. The reason why I recommend this to who I listed is because it is a very listenable album, sure it's not a 4 or 5 star but it's also recommended because this CD will not be around forever, if you are even considering getting this, get it now. The best track has to be the Elton John "The Measure Of A Man", it was written for this film and this is the song that best represents Rocky V and the Rocky films as a whole. So, please, add it to your cart because for this great price, it's a steal. Plus, it could be here today, gone tomorrow.

On Christmas Day 1990 I received this soundtrack as a gift from my mother. My mother new I loved the Rocky movies and still do. I played the tape so much it wore out! Over the past 11 years I have tried to replace it, to no avail! Capital Records stopped production within 2 years of it's release. I live in the Philadelphia area and the music of the great ROCKY V in unavailable until NOW!! Thank you amazon.com. The reason Iloved this soundtrack is the Elton John song ( Measure of a man). and a song by joey b. Ellis GO FOR IT (Heart and fire)It's a great workout song.This year is the 25th anniversary of the one that started it all. This is by far the best of all the soundtracks!!!

The heart of any Rocky movie lies with the amazing music. For the first film, we had "Gonna Fly Now" and Rocky's theme. For Rocky II, the thoughtful "Redemption" theme. For Rocky III, it was a "Mickey" and the unforgettable "Eye of The Tiger". Even Rocky IV managed to impress with Vince DiCola's "War" and John Cafferty's "Hearts On Fire".

Rocky V has...MC Hammer.

That by itself wouldn't be too terrible, except for the fact that Bill Conti's music for this Rocky film is overlooked completely by the producers of this soundtrack. The one redeeming musical moment in the film was when a rearranged Rocky's theme blares during the final moments of the streetfight with Tommy Gunn.

The CD does not have that track on here, eschewing it to make room for another MC Hammer song. I wouldn't spend more than $5 on a used copy of this and certainly not $46.

This is my favorite soundtrack of the series.The only changes I would make is to merge the music of the soundtrack and Bill Conti's musical score for the film into one cd.Second,an extended version of "Keep it Up",that was done by Snap!;Ilove that song the most.Third,as an added bonus for the fans,Capitol Records could include the full monologue of the late Burgess Meredith's "reasons to go on" because it is touching and inspirational. Let's hope Capitol does this because it will be well received.

MY FAVOURITE SONG OF ALL-TIME(SINCE I FIRST HEARD IT): MEASURE OF A MAN, AND BEFORE NOW I HAD TO WAIT FOR 11 YEARS TO HAVE IT ON DISC(OR TAPE), AND I SEARCHED EVERYWHERE FOR IT( EJ IS LIKE A FINE WINE: HE'S MUSIC GETS BETTER THE OLDER HE GETS). AND IF THE OTHER ROCKY SOUNDTRACKS GIVES YOU MORE FEELING WHILE WORKING OUT, THIS ONE HAS THAT SPECIAL PHILLY FEELING THAT THE OTHERS DONT, IT'S SPECIAL IN IT'S OWN RIGHT.

I think this CD is so well done, it has a mix of all kinds of music. Its the best Rocky soundtrack.And my favorite song on it is a measure of a man. Thank you Amazon for having this CD in stock. By the way, I hope there is a Rocky 6 on the way.

This is among some of the best music to listen to if you're into physical fitness. Highly recommend it.

I use this CD for weight training. It provides the tempo I need for my reps and let's face it... there's nothing like a Rocky workout! The Rocky training and fighting clips are pretty inspirational as it is and the music just adds to the moment. If you don't mind music with heavy rap influence, this is a GREAT pick.

I've searched far and wide for the soundtrack to Rocky V, the last story in a saga of a man's struggle from the bottom to the top and back. Its a great album, and I'm really glad that Amazon had it for sale.
