I love traditional Irish and Scottish music, and I love Damien Dempsey's music in part because of its grounding in those musical traditions and the history of the celts. The Rocky Road is, for me, a sublime experience of both. Damien's voice, always amazing and gut wrenchingly passionate, delivers these songs perfectly, with the kind of intimacy and tiny edge of roughnesss that are present in a good celidh performance. I hope that this is the first of many traditional recordings by Damien

We saw Damien at an Irish Fest and were intrigued enough to make the purchase. The CD has a wide variety from traditional folk type Irish music to more modern songs. "Rainy night in Soho" is very lovely and the lyrics are amazing. Good CD if you enjoy a range of Irish music.

A bit different sound from Damien's other CDs, but if you like traditional Irish/Celtic music, you'll love this. I highly recommend Rocky Road!

For anyone who loves Damien Dempsey's voice, of course you have to own this CD. It is a little more traditional Irish music than his other disks. But, after a few plays you start singing along just like the others.
and the funny thing is, you don't tire of the music. I really love "Shots" and "To Hell or Barbados".

I love this album!!!! Damien Dempsey is a wonderfull songwriter and musician. This album is a very folk Irish heritage style album. It is a must have.
