4.0 out of 5 stars Huge epic adventure has a few rough spots, but is excellent, May 1, 2000
This review is from: The Rod of Seven Parts (AD&D Fantasy Roleplaying) (Paperback)
Since the game was first created in the 70s, one of the "untouchable" epic quests in the game has been to go one a huge, unending adventure to recover artifacts of unfathomable power and use them to destroy evil. Finally, this colossal set gives you that chance! Skip Williams, one of TSR's most celebrated designers, outlines a cataclysmic conflict between not only good and evil, but Law and Chaos. Your players will have their hands full for months with this one. You get 6 giant poster maps, over 200 pages of adventure and new monsters, a pile of reference cards, and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Precursor to TSR's Renaissance, January 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Rod of Seven Parts (AD&D Fantasy Roleplaying) (Paperback)
This product was a hint of things to come, published just prior to TSR's near-death experience. Although it seems just a tad unfocused, it scores BIG points for bringing back two of my favorite TSR artists from the old days: Roslof and the inimitably bizarre Erol Otus. Plus, this product brings to life the brief, enigmatic mention of the Wind Dukes of Aaqa and their enemies from the old DM guide. All in all, it's an epic adventure worth trying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rebirths the Age of Fantasy for all Readers!, October 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Rod of Seven Parts (AD&D Fantasy Roleplaying) (Paperback)
Today it is rare to find any good Fantasy Fiction novels that can put the reader into the characters "shoes" as one would say. The Rod of Seven Parts is an Excellent display of what the mind can imagine and create. Kip is an amazing character and the book diserves a sequal if not more.
