2.0 out of 5 stars The Equivalent of a B Movie, July 17, 2009
This review is from: Rodman Downunder [Slim Case] (DVD)
I found this in the $1 box at Walmart. I couldn't resist picking this up, thinking i could at least get a laugh or too out of it. And man did I. 2 of the matches on this show (Barbarian/Beefcake and The womens match) are 2 of the worst matches i may have ever seen. The show is terrible. It's corny, the wrestling is bad, the camera work is pretty terrible... But with that said, there are points that are so bad you will laugh out loud and find yourself actually enjoying it. So in that way, it's like a wrestling B-movie. So bad it's good.

So if you can find it for $1 like I did, pick it up, pop it in, and don't take it seriously.

Oh and the Public enemy/Road Warriors match was alright.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rodman Down Under, August 2, 2011
This review is from: Rodman Downunder [Slim Case] (DVD)
Pretty good event for the value of this DVD. Paid only $0.98 for it and the "No disqualification" match between Dennis Rodman and Mr. Perfect was worth the price of this DVD. Hennig was "Perfect" as usual and made Dennis Rodman looked like a legitimate threat in the ring. Not a stellar event, as most of the matches were past-it wrestlers wrestling for one last chance at glory. Kinda reminiscent of the now infamous Heroes of Wrestling pay-per view event back in the late 1990's. The one other good match on the card was The Road Warriors vs. Public Enemy opening match.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wrestling Legends in Australia! (Oh, and Dennis Rodman, too.), August 14, 2007
This review is from: Rodman Downunder [Slim Case] (DVD)
This show, promoted by i-Generation Wrestling, was taped in Sydney, Australia on July 30, 2000. It aired on Pay-Per-View in the U.S. on December 1, 2000. This is a very entertaining show with several wrestling legends on the card. Most are a little past their prime, but can still put on a good show. With commentary from Vince Mancini and "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, the card stacks up like this:

1. iGW Tag Team Title Tables Match - Champions Public Enemy (Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge) vs. The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal)
2. Hardcore Match - Brute Force (aka Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake) vs. The Barbarian
3. Women's Match - Sweet Destiny with boxing great "Aussie" Joe Bugner vs. Brandi Wine with Sugar Daddy (aka Fred "Typhoon" Ottman)
4. iGW International Title Match - Champion Tatanka vs. One Man Gang
5. iGW Heavyweight Title "Australian Outback" Match - Champion Curt Hennig vs. Dennis Rodman

Having been taped for PPV in front of 10,000 fans at the Sydney Superdome, the production values are somewhat higher than Digiview's previous wrestling DVDs - Grand Masters of Wrestling 1 & 2. The biggest problem I have with the show is the fact that Dennis Rodman is in the main event. I never thought he should even be in the ring, let alone in a main event. All the matches are decent considering how long some of these guys had been wrestling by this point (and the fact that Rodman is NOT a wrestler), and well worth the $1 I paid at Wal-Mart for it just to see the Road Warriors in action again. With how fed up I am with the current WWE soap opera stuff, it's nice to watch a show that is all about the action IN the ring rather than outside of it.
