I've been using this for ten years, I was buying it at the local stores who are all out of business due to Lowe's & Home Depot. Walmart sold it for less than $9.00, they don't anymore, at least not in my area of NY. This works great, seems a lot simpler than the foam. Pour in 1/3, flush & again twice more until it's empty, leave over night, roots killed in a few days. What the heck happened to Roebics prices. $18 to $25 for a less than $10.00 product.

This product was bought in my local hardware store when it was called "ServiStar", in Brooklyn, NY. It sold for $9.99 for a 32 oz (2lb) container. The store has changed names, but the owner is the same. He is now selling a product for $20.00 in a 1 lb. container and it is a "use once only" deal. No thanks. I'll buy this product online if I have to since I can not find it locally. The product works. Plus, for this money, you get 3 uses.

I purchased this product from this company [easy to do online]and it arrived in about a week. Was the 2lb package of 99% Copper Sulfate granules and easy to follow the directions. Price of $20 shipped to my door was fairly reasonable. Later found out [and then purchased] from Home Depot the same chemical [made by ZEP in 2lb package] for $12 plus tax. Add in round trip travel time to the potential expense if you want. I still needed plumber to snake out the line as it was really root encroached. He suggested using this type of product every 6 months and especially in mid-fall. In my case, this 100 yr old house never had a main waste line clean out. Now it does from the outside so this will make life easier. No idea how well this chemical works; though 25 yr veteran plumber said it is a good idea.....short of replacing the waste line and cutting the trees down.

This is a good product -- but I thought I would get more than one application with it -- and didn't. I much prefer Roebic's FOAMING root killer. It is a single use product, but it goes into the pipe and swells to the full diameter of the pipe to kill roots coming into the pipe from all directions. This product goes into the pipe and sits on the bottom and requires repeated flushing to get it all in.

I have been using this for about three years now and my sewer line has remained clear. I use it twice each year, once every September and once every March. Flush it down your toilet in three doses at night after all the other heavy water use of the day (showers, dishwashers, washing machines, toilets) is complete.

Seems to be an effective product; anyway, the plumbing is working, and there's a huge tree waaaay too close to it. We've not had trouble since using this product.

Added This to the sewer line as prescribed on label and it seems to work,haven't had any problems in the last 45 days since it was added

Great stuff but best used at the closest to the tree root problem. In my basement I have a cleanout just as the drain goes out to the main. At that cleanout is where I poured the K-77. Flushed twice from above and left it for 8 hours. I do plan on following up with the foaming Root killer in a week and from now on every 6 months using the foaming.
