Shortly thereafter, I was browsing the aisles in my local Grossman's when I came across Roebic K-37. After reading the bottle I decided to buy some and try it out. While the instructions said "once a year" I added to the system it twice a year, "just to be sure." I also did the "common sense" stuff associated with septic system. I chose the toilet tissue the dissolved well and never flushed anything "inappropriate." I never had any problems, except when the tall grass over the drain field choked my mower.
Fast-forward 14 years. One day I said to my bride, "That septic tank's been there since 1962. I don't think it would hurt if we put a new one in." There is an "old-timer" in my neighborhood with a backhoe and a dump truck with an excellent reputation when it comes to installing septic systems, so I made arrangements with him to replace the system. On the appointed day, he scoops out the forsythia bush, and carefully scoops down until he reaches the metal top of the septic tank. To my surprise, it is not attached to the tank. After pumping the tank, the sides and the bottom each came out separately. It also turns out I only had a 10 foot long drain field.Read more ›
Same man told us that we had maybe 2 feet of sludge and the system was working perfectly. This was our 12th purchase and application and at age 75 don't expect to ever need the system be pumped in our lifetime. -:).
We are very pleased with your product, we also use the root killer.
Other things that have worked for me. Don't use disinfectants there are other cleaners to flush that will not kill the tank bacteria. Wiping a counter with disinfectant and throwing away the paper towel will not effect the septic. Use fine sink strainers in the kitchen sinks that you empty in the garbage. I think the granules are better than the liquid.

This stuff has kept my aerobic septic system going for 13 years without having to have it pumped. We have a service contractor who checks it every 6 months. Read morePublished 2 months ago by GaryH

This product is much easier to use than it's liquid counterpart. When pouring the liquid into the commode before flushing, a strong foul smell is emitted which I am not sure is... Read morePublished 3 months ago by Daniel A.
