Although I have many cat topic books in my bookshelf, I bought this book. This book is informative. It also contains some unique point of view. The reason I only rate it as 4 stars is, I prefer a more human touch (sensation, humor) on cat topic books.

Roger Tabor is a renowned cat expert. He has often been featured on PBS. In fact, that is why I bought the book. I pride myself as a cat expert, but there are things in this book I never knew about cats. One important fact - if you pet a cat too much they might nip you. Often cats gets sent to shelters because they are misunderstood. This book will help people understand cats better. Great Book, Great photos.

The finest illustrated feline behaviour book around. It was an easy read with quality pictures and easy to understand. Highly recommended.

I have to say that I have a fondness for this book. It reminds me of the books I read as a kid, especially Funk & Wagnall's Animal Encyclopedias. It covers a wide range of topics such as kitten development, territorial behavior, cats and people, playing. It's like an overview of the cat as an entity with a light scientific/psychological/behavorial flavor....

I really enjoyed this book and found it very informative. I learned things about my best friends behavior that I did not know! Especially the part about how cats fight. Mr. Tabor explains things in a simple and direct mannor. The photography was also excellent.

The author has done extensive research with felines over the past 40 years, and this book has a lot of very interesting and useful information for cat lovers and companions. We have 6 cats, and my son recently moved back home, bringing his two as well. Adding more felines to an already "saturated" finite space has proved a serious challenge. It's been nice to have this book as a reference to understand the territorial reasons behind some of the less desirable behaviors we're trying to rectify while trying to help adapt all the cats to the "bigger brood" as it were.

It has to be the best Cat book ever written. It has opened my eyes to information that I never new existed. If you like or love Cats you MUST buy this book. You will love it!
