For Us Brits, A Household Appliance, For The Rest Of You...Give It A Try,
By Tom Chase (London) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Roger's Profanisaurus (Hardcover)
Viz has always been great immature and often potty-mouthed fun. And here the boys create a dictionary of hilarious terms and phrases. If you are already aware of Viz's comics and you cant help but giggle at them, then you need to get this book. I think the best thing to do is give a few examples -
'Brown eye - The ring through which the brown trout jump on their daily migration to the sea.' 'Fanny nosher - A woman in comfortable shoes who takes the other bus to dine at the Y.' 'Rasputin - An unkempt vaginal or anal beard.' 'Gammon flaps - 1. Hole in a farmhouse door through which pigs come and go at will. 2. Beef curtains, gammon goalposts.' Hopefully this gives you an idea of the contents. It is basically a whole host of immature, crass terms and phrases. If you enjoy a little bit of potty-mouthed humour Brit-style, then you will enjoy this a lot.

This is the ultimate reference book for anybody interested in British vulgarity. I should mention that the book is Hi-f**ing-larious. It belongs on every limey-wannabe bachelor's toilet tank. You will laugh out loud when you randomly select a page & read the slang definitions.

Hysterical British Swear Word Dictionary,
By Lalo (Jackson Georgia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Roger's Profanisaurus (Hardcover)
Taken from submissions of readers to British humor magazine VIZ, this book presents a compendium of swear words, pub talk and all around general verbal nastiness. But in an entertaining way. Any Anglophile with a twisted sense of humor needs this one!

Suggest you keep it in the dunny for something to read whenever you or your guests have set up a force field in polite company and then badly need to crimp off a length.
Utterly hilarious.

In The Guest Khazi,

This review is from: Roger's Profanisaurus (Hardcover)
Being a native Brit and a buyer of Viz magazine since 1986 I adore this and it now sits proudly in our guest Khazi where I am trying to educate or mainly American guests on the beauty and humour of us Brits as far as crude stuff goes.
A must read and very, very clever ;) David

Better than the first edition! No one knows what to think of this book when they pick it up off of my coffee table. They look around and see Dostoevsky, Poe, Neruda, Plath and Elliot and then they notice my penchant for potty mouthed humor and never know what to think. Next to lit they find Sid the Sexist, and both of the Roger's Profanisaurus'. Well, a gal can be smart and talk like a sailor at the same time ya know! So, go take Captain Picard to warp speed if you don't like it.
