I bought this as a starter banjo thinking that for the price, it couldn't go wrong. I still like the banjo but I did buy a deering good time banjo to learn on because the neck doesn't seem to be quite as thick for learning the chords.

This banjo has a good sound and it's pretty to look at. I'm keeping it and as I get better at the banjo I will use it more and more. I just really noticed that it was a less difficult to get the chords right on the deering as opposed to this one...though there is a 300 difference in price for the low end deering and it doesn't have a resonator. So again, this is a good banjo for the price and I do recommend it.
