Purchased new for $199. I would have been happy if I'd paid 300. A great slide guitar for Delta blues. The fretboard has no radius (it's flat), so this machine is built for slide playing.
If you're a purist, you can buy a real National cone for about $50 and replace it, but the original sounds great: loud, brassy & soulful.
It's a beautiful looking guitar, but I did need to file the fret ends.
Get one.

I recently purchased this guitar through Amazon/MusciansFriend on sale for 50 dollars less than the 300 list. The guitar would have been a steal at 400.

A beatiful fit and finish, bright chrome shine, strings set right for slide or fret work, very, very nice.

If you play seriously or, like me, just fool around in your older years, I can easily recommend this instrument. If you do not play it would make a great wall ornament.

Made by some company exclusively for MF this guitar has to increase in price although a resonator is a unique instrument not owned by many players. Grab one while its hot!!

This is really such a good resonator.
I am a professional musician and I can really tell a bad guitar from a good guitar.
This resonator sounds loud and luscious, is very responsive, looks beautiful, and is solid as a rock.
Have no doubts about getting this one.
I can't believe how cheap it was for what I got.

I read the five reviews here and purchased this resonator based on these reviews. I couldn't agree more with the reviewers. This baby rocks! I was somewhat apprehensive about buying an instrument online without trying it first; but I'll tell you, right out of the box, I fell in love with it. I use both a steel slide and a glass slide, and both sound great. I haven't picked up a guitar in years, but now I'm playing again every day. What a deal for the money; I can't stress that enough. Go for it!

I am a multi instrument musician and have been playing for 40 years. This dobro is awesome. Plays nice, sounds great, holds tune as well as my other instruments (gibson,fender,godin,steinberger) it was a suprise christmas present and i haven't put it down yet. If you are looking for a great dobro for a great price dont hesitate. Its well worth it.

This guitar is a GREAT guitar for your money! I say National Smashional! Who gives a hoot! This guitar looks and feels great. I would make sure you aren't allergic to certain metals though as I was getting a slight rash on my arm, just duct taped it up and on to a great play! I recommend this guitar, surely.

I bought mine from here about 3 years ago for $279. Cant play the guitar to save my life but since seeing it on the cover of Brothers In Arms, it was a must have for me. I would love to be able to play it, but right now, its a piece of art in my wall cabinet. It sometimes gets strummed as I walk by. Sounds so deep and classy, I just wish I could do it the justice it deserves.
