A HUGE disappointment,

This review is from: Rogue Ops (Video Game)
I wanted to like this game.... I really did. I played it through, and it is now in the trash, as I would not even want to pawn this on a used buyer. If you like games where you spend hours just getting by a silly puzzle (i.e. turning the analog thumb control various directions within a absurdly short time limit just to get inside a door). The game possessed its fun moments, but they were far and few between, with the vast majority of time being spent repeating controller button combinations over and over again, combined with starting the level over and over again..... By the end of the game, I was truly relieved it was over; and in this regard, the joy of destroying the disk was of much greater enjoyment than was laying the game. Indeed, I've been gaming for 15 years and this is the first time I've ever judged a game as so bad that it deserve the expense of a trashing. The AI is absurd as well. At times, you get detected when it clear you are hidden, then at other times, you're right next to a guard -- face to face -- and he doesn't even notice. Buyers beware, this is certainly NOT a "Splinter Cell", or anything even close. This is a true abomination of a game, that I literally prefer ANYTHING to. Indeed, I never thought it possible to actually hate a game, but this game is unique in this regard.

A Clear Case of Insanity,

This review is from: Rogue Ops (Video Game)
I played this game today through the first training mission and a portion of the second training mission. In the latter, the objective is to terminate a guard on station. For this game, I have to approach the guard, activate the A button, and duplicate a series of movements. I noticed that based on my position that these varied. Unfortunately, the cut scene didn't match my movements. It was consistently the same - my character would do a forward kick with the right leg, the guard would be aroused, and my character would be gun-butted by the alerted guard. I repeated this many times. The definition of insanity is repeating the same event over and over, aka Rogue Ops.
(There are better stealth games. I would recommend two games which incorporate stealth in their game design - Thief: Deadly Shadows and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. I have both and can attest to their quality.)
