The system and the design itself is intuitive. However, one big problem I have is that it--despite the newer version promising 20-30% lighter materials--is still heavy on my flash. I am using Pentax AF540fgz ii. When I pull up the flash head to a perfect 90degrees, the flashbender sits there tight. However, when I tilt my body a little forward, then this thing pulls my flash head over; I have to hold the head to the desired angle just to keep it up. Worse, if you put the diffuser (in my case, I bought both as a kit), this problem becomes more obvious.
Other than that, the flashbender really works in making that little lightsource bigger significantly, and I really mean that. Shooting in front of the mirror really shows how much spread there is. Light is really evenly distributed at different flash zoom levels. I admit there are like 2 stops of light lost, but controlling flash output would compensate for this.
Another annoying thing. The lower left and right corners of the flashbender doesn't really bend because there're no hard wires or anything in it. The only part that you can really bend is the top and center part of it; the rest just dances along.
Lastly, this kit really isn't for rapid shooters. No matter how hard I try, I still have to use both hands to strap and unstrap this addition to my flash--while sitting down. I also wish the texture of the material to where the strapping happens has better grip. This one is still very slippery.
