5.0 out of 5 stars Tortured Hero
This book has everything you could ask for Tortured hero, feisty heroine, well-planned revenge plot. And without giving anything away a wonderful ending! Margo Maguire is a shining new addition to my favorite author list!

2.0 out of 5 stars Read the Count of Monte Cristo instead...seriously.
The plot was unoriginal, boring, and frankly way too predictable. It's like reading a murder novel where the butler really did do it.

Reading some sections were lessons on how to endure torture. Some of the descriptions during the love scenes were very stereotypically old school bad romance. At some point they "...meld their bodies and souls." I didn't...

The plot was unoriginal, boring, and frankly way too predictable. It's like reading a murder novel where the butler really did do it.

Reading some sections were lessons on how to endure torture. Some of the descriptions during the love scenes were very stereotypically old school bad romance. At some point they "...meld their bodies and souls." I didn't realize I was reading a Star Trek novel in disguise. Was this perhaps a program run on the holodeck?

I had to skip the sections discussing her womb surging and quivering. I'm not saying you have to be crude, but this was a bit...is cheesy the word I'm looking for?

I say skip this novel and read The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas instead. The Count of Monte Cristo

I did not enjoy this book. Having read other books by this author, which I enjoyed much more, I was very disappointed with the main plot. The characters were lacking, left me wanting more from them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the fake prince!, July 19, 2011

This review is from: The Rogue Prince (Mass Market Paperback)
A lot of literature depends on characters who are hiding something or deceiving someone--and what our Prince of Sabedoria is hiding is huge! I loved this story of political chicanery and over-the-top hoodwinking. Even the heroine gets into the act with her secret ways of earning a living. The Rogue Prince is a lot of fun with a really great hero an a really satisfying ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Rogue Prince, June 23, 2010
This review is from: The Rogue Prince (Kindle Edition)
When he was younger, Thomas Thorne was accused of a crime he didn't commit. Convicted by a hanging judge and transported to a penal colony for seven years, he endured many beatings and other tortures at the hands of his jailers.

Now that he's released, he's traveling back to England, under the guise of a foreign prince. He's ready to take revenge on the men who ruined his life. Things are going fine, until he realizes one of the men is dead. But he's left behind a widow and two children. A very alluring widow.

Lady Margaret Blackmore is devastated to learn that her husband not only cheated on her, but left her in great debt when he died. She's always been an outcast with her family so she can expect no help from them.

But then a handsome man saves her son from certain death. He happens to be a visiting price and he touches a place inside her that's never been touched. When he expresses interest she's flabbergasted, and secretly thrilled.

Will Tom use Maggie for his own devices, or will he give in to the love he feels for her and give up his need for revenge?

The Rogue Prince is captivating and engaging. Ms. Maguire has created realistic characters that I felt instant affinity for and wanted to get to know more. They were people that I could see myself being friends with and caring about.

The story is wonderfully plotted and thoroughly entertaining. It was my first Margo Maguire novel, but it won't be my last. If you enjoy historical romance then this is one you should pick up
