Book Description

They're here.

They ride.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell's minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride . . .

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues-and falls for-a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming, and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man whom Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man who can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbors are killed, and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: Can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

Editorial Reviews

"Doomsday is fast approaching unless the remaining Horsemen of the Apocalypse can prevent it. In the previous Lords of Deliverance novel, Thanatos, the horseman of Death, was tricked and now the world may shake with his anger. Gifted storyteller Ione's tales are gripping and dark, filled with tragedy and hope. Transfixing!" (RT Book Reviews on Lethal Rider )

"Ione's third Lords of Deliverance paranormal builds the secondary story line of Immortal Rider into a rollicking ride of thrills, angst, and sexual heat. Thanatos, aka Death, is one angry Horseman of the Apocalypse. Aegis Guardian and OCD sufferer Regan Matthews molested him while he was drugged, and those around him conspired to keep her resultant pregnancy a secret. Thanatos kidnaps Regan, vowing to keep her his sexual prisoner, but her genuine remorse over tricking him to impregnate her so that the birth of their baby might prevent the Apocalypse wears down his resolve and opens the door to a fiery and moving romance between damaged souls. Meanwhile, those trying to avert the upcoming end of the world must cope with double-crossing Watchers, false prophecies, vampires with a grudge, and the ongoing treachery of Death's brother Pestilence. Ione humanizes her leads and also captures the urgency of their mission, resulting in a very satisfying read." (Publishers Weekly on Lethal Rider )

Ione has a true gift for imbuing her characters with dark-edged passion. . . a top notch read." (4 stars, RT Book Reviews on Desire Unchained )

"The author's hard-edged style infuses the story with darkness while taking it to sizzling heights." (4 stars, RT Book Reviews on Pleasure Unbound )

"The third book in Ione's supercharged Demonica series ignites on the first page and never looks back." (4 1/2 stars, RT Book Reviews on Passion Unleashed )

"Wicked...Decadently Sinful...Prepare to be burned." (Gena Showalter, New York Times bestselling author on Desire Unchained )

"Ione brings to life a riveting world filled with sizzling sensuality, dark wit, and wicked hot demons." (Lara Adrian, New York Times bestselling author on Passion Unleashed )

The Lords of Deliverance, otherwise known as the four horsemen of the apocalypse aren't evil, but can fight for either the side of good or evil. It all depends on how the prophecies play out, and for now it seems like the evil side has now been thwarted. Stabbed in the heart by his brothers in attempt to stop the reign of terror Reseph was wreaking upon the world in his rampage as Pestilence, he was thrown in to Hell to suffer for all days. Yet, someone takes pity upon his misery and casts him out into the mortal realm with his memory stripped to give him a chance at redemption. Naked and delirious in the brittle cold of the mountains, he is rescued by a woman named Jillian. Despite his amnesia, he instantly feels at home in her presence and quickly wears her down in a budding romance. But Jillian has her own scarred past, his past may just prove to be a insurmountable obstacle for her to overcome despite her desires.

I absolutely adored the romance in this book. Perhaps that was due to the more sweet nature rather than the hard and raw nature of the previous couples. Don't get me wrong, the chemistry between them was rather steamy and delicious, but I'd have to say it was more romantic for lack of a better word. There's just something about the fact that Jillian and Reseph came together and fell in love on human terms before any of his past was revealed. It was exactly the sweet and passionate nature needed to start the path of redemption for Reseph and make me fall in love with him all over again. I also really loved that they both were damaged, yet each had an underlying core of strength. Although, Jillian's was much more apparent than Reseph's, making her exactly what he needed. In fact, these two are probably my favorite couple since the very first ones, Tayla and Eidolon.

5.0 out of 5 stars A+ rated.... November 20, 2012
Format:Mass Market Paperback
My Review:
I know that I've said it before, but I probably will say it every time after I read a Larissa Ione book. She is the most amazing story teller of our generation. This book was brilliant!! OMG, I never thought that I would be able to fall in love with Reseph the way that I did while reading this book after everything that he did as Pestilence over the last three books. But I completely and totally did fall in love with him. I swear....pure writing brilliance!!!

You all know that I am a sucker for a good tortured hero, and you don't get more tortured than Reseph. For the past year, he has done every bad thing possible as the deliverer of the apocalypse. Even though he spends the first half of the book without his memory, he senses that he wasn't necessarily a good guy. But that doesn't keep him from totally falling for Jillian, the woman who found him naked and unconscious in the snow. He may not have any memory, but he has a good "sense" for things and he knows that what he's feeling for her is the first time he's ever felt like this in his 5000 year old life (although at the time, he has no idea that he's lived for that long.)

And when he gets his memory back...OMG, I literally just ached for him. Then there's Jillian. She was attacked way early in the apocalypse by a hoard of soul-shredder demons. When the truth comes out about that attack...*sob* god, she's a strong woman to still do what she needs to do. I really liked her character simply because she doesn't realize how strong she really is...and she is so strong. Over and over she has to stand up for herself and for Reseph and for what's right and she does so with amazing strength, even when she's dying inside. I loved her character.

Format:Mass Market Paperback
Rating: B+ ... Heat: Hot

Rogue Rider is the final book in the Lords of Deliverance series and Miz Ione has saved the baddest Horsemen for last--Reseph. Or, as we've seen him thus far, Pestilence. The resident bad boy of this series. Except, after the events in Lethal Rider, Pestilence is gone and Reseph is back. Sort of.

Jillian Cardiff went through hell when Pestilence was free. In order to feel safe again, she's left her home in Florida and has returned to her hometown, a small one stoplight town in Colorado. Closed off and afraid, Jillian is hiding in her cabin on the side of a mountain, enjoying the peace and quiet and aloneness.

Until she finds a naked man in a snow drift on her property. Thinking he's most likely dead, Jillian is surprised to find him warm and with a steady pulse. Using her horse to get him back to her cabin, Jillian nurses him back to health. And when he wakes up, well, that's when the fun starts.

Reseph wakes up naked in a strange place, in a strange bed, with a strange, beautiful woman taking care of him. That might seem odd, except he can't even remember his own name. He's a completely blank slate.

Funny and protective and warm, Reseph still managed to exude a predatory lethalness. And a protectiveness toward Jillian from the very first. I absolutely adored Reseph's sense of humor and his vulnerability. Having no memory, no idea who he is, gave him a weakness that his siblings never had.

My favorite aspect of Reseph is that he never whines or complains about his lack of memory. Sure, he wants to figure out who he is, but he's also afraid of the darkness he feels inside of him. Instead, he focuses on making new memories with Jill. Until, of course, the past catches up with them.

Reaver.......... the Horseman's Daddy???
I completely agree that Reaver is the father. I think Reaver's book is going to be about him coming to terms with this revelation and I am so excited for him to find out! If you have read the short story of Lilith that Ione did, it is basically spelled out that he is the father and Harvester is a... Read More
