Irreverent Mike and thrill-seeking Tessa are perfectly matched in a harrowing tale of stolen nuclear arms. -- Romantic Times Bookclub

From the Author

ROGUE SOLDIER features another hero from the Secret Designation Defense Unit. If you like Alias or Suzanne Brockmann's novels, you'll enjoy my SDDU books.

More About the Author

DANA MARTON writes fast-paced action-adventure romances that take her readers all over the globe. She is a RITA AWARD finalist and the winner of the Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence. She loves writing stories of intrigue, filled with dangerous plots that try her tough-as-nails heroes and the special women they fall in love with. Her books have been published in seven languages in eleven countries around the world.

--Okay, the above version is the glamour version for press releases. The truth is that my path to publication was nothing but unglamorous. I wrote for 13 years and completed 4 books (as well as having others in various stages of completion) before I finally received a call from a Harlequin editor. I was beginning to wonder if I was being tenacious or just too dense to know when to quit.

But it all worked out at the end! I love, love, love writing and would spend all day in front of the computer if I could just break my family of the habit of wanting to eat and wear clean clothes. What's up with that? But I must get up from the desk now and then, if only because my Internet connection goes down or my ancient PC overheats. Then I do enjoy cooking, knitting, hunting for treasures at the flea market, our Beagle, Peanut the Destroyer, and gardening.

I'd love it if you picked up one of my books and emailed me to tell me what you thought of it. I've been known to name characters after readers. Just ask Princess Judi.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you love action and adventure combined with passionate romance; you'll love this book!, January 25, 2008
This review is from: Rogue Soldier (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
Rogue Soldier by Dana Marton
Harlequin Intrigue # 902 - February 2006 - SDDU series Book #5

Three years ago, Mike blew it with Tessa. When the Special Forces training went wrong, and Tessa ended up in the hospital and denied a place with SF, she blamed Mike. All it took was one more betrayal and she was gone. Mike always meant to find her and make it up to her but he'd been recruited by the SDDU and out on long missions. Tessa's been on assignment with the Army Corp. of Engineers doing testing in Alaska. She and her partner are attacked, leaving her partner dead and she captured. When Mike learns that Tessa's missing, he goes AWOL from the SDDU to find her. When he rescues her from her captors, he finds he's got even more trouble. They've stumbled onto arms dealers smuggling nuclear war heads to Russia. And even though the chemistry between them is still explosive, Tessa's never forgiven him.

In the three years apart, both Tessa and Mike have changed. Tessa's matured. Mike's found that he's grown above that good 'ole boy attitude he and his pals had in the SF. Mike learns that part of loving Tessa, is trusting that she can look after herself. Tessa learns that she can trust Mike with her heart, and that his love won't smother who she is. Another great read from Ms. Marton! If you love action and adventure combined with passionate romance; you'll love this book! I did

SDDU (Special Designation Defense Unit) series by Dana Marton

The SDDU is an elite group compiled of agents from all the US agencies; CIA, FBI, SEALs, Special Forces; the best of the best. The SDDU is Homeland Security's special weapon against terrorism.
Shadow Soldier / Secret Soldier
The Sheik's Safety / Camouflage Heart
Rogue Soldier / Protective Measures
These are all incredible reads! If you like action, adventure and romance, these will not disappoint you. I love that Ms. Marton writes her heroines to be equally as brave and strong as her heroes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A CONTINIATION OF THE "SDDU" COVERT AGENTS, August 19, 2006

Possibly #5 in the "SDDU" saga of covert agents [haven't located the Sheikh's book yet to ascertain the #]

This story takes us to Alaska and some more arms dealings with Tsernyakov [although we still do not really met this villian].

Mike McNair has gone "AWOL" when he finds out the a former special agent, Tessa Nielsen is in danger. He hasn't forgotten her in the past 3 years.
Boy, is Colonel Wilson po'd. McNair may lose his job.

Tessa is still carrying a lot of garbage from when she walked away from McNair 3 years ago when his actions [of saving her] got her thrown out of Special Forces. She had lasted the longest of the 5 females trying out for the Unit.
Of course, the powers that be were not likely to allow a female on the all male unit. [boy are these women stupid - they stir up the hormones and then wonder what the problem was].

But back to Alaska - with the snow storms and the bears [boy was that one good] and Brady Marshall on their trail, the events get a bit steamy.
I can't believe that it was that easy to get to Siberia. [grin] A slow boat to Russia. Hormones are the devil to deal with. Mike called on his trusted friend, "Shorty" to rescue him and Tessa from the Russian tundra - war heads and TNT.

They have the CIA and others searching for them making life a bit miserable. Tessa is another one of those mixed-up emotional women who tend to make themselves miserable.

Another Excellent tale - great characters - good suspense - good plotting - great pace.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED --M - THIS is a keeper set with more to come - next up is PROTECTIVE MEASURES with Daniel DuCharme.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book blew me away!!!, March 1, 2006
This review is from: Rogue Soldier (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book (Rogue Soldier) by Dana Marton grabbed my complete attention from the first page. If you like an action packed read with a hint of romance then you must read this book.

I had to read the whole book in one day. I could not put it down. Awesome characters, so well defined that I could identify with every one of them.

I just can't say enough about this book. I loved it so much that I have gone and purchased all of Dana Marton's books. Well, the ones that are still available.

You better get yours now. This girl (Dana Marton) is going to be a star.
