4.0 out of 5 stars Marcinko has another winner!
The Shark man from the Delta is back again with another winner. This time: Option Delta. 3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable if unoriginal
More three and a half stars, overall it's great to hear another grand tale from Dickie, replete with his dark humor, insights, and liberal use of certain colorful metaphors. A quick read that really gets in your face and immerses you, it is recommened for military and thriller fans.

(Glad to see that he got away from the colorful titles) I've read every one of his books and have yet to be disappointed in any of them. Reading him is one of those can't wait to pick it up, hate to put it down and sad when your finished book because you end up wanting another story. As usual the book starts out fast and hard and won't let you put it down. Lots of action, intrigue and suspense. And of course Marcinko's hard nose descriptive, saying it the way it really is style that makes his fans love him so. If you love action adventure then Marcinko is a MUST READ. One book is all it'll take. All I have to say is I can't wait for his next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOOYAH!, December 24, 2002

Another outstanding, highly motivational piece of Roguish action from good ol' Demo Dick, my favorite author. I had the pleasure of reading this book right after graduation from the USAF Security Forces Academy at Lackland AFB, TX. In retrospect, it's apropos that the main villain is a German, seeing how Germany is proving to be such an unreliable "ally" in our current War on Terror.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Triple But not a Home Run, October 2, 1999
By A Customer
I am an avid Rogue Warrior fan and have read all the books by Demo Dick. I liked this but, the gratuitous violence at the end I thought was pretty extreme and depraved, even by Rogue Warrior standards. (e.g. using the bad guy's head like a golf ball, etc.) I eagerly away the next adventure of the Roguester, nevertheless!

4.0 out of 5 stars Rogue Warrior: Option Delta, March 8, 2001

Okay, so am I the only female on the planet to read Dickie's stuff? By the looks of the reviews, I am. Well you're a heck of a writer Dick (you too John!). I love your books. I've read them all and find the narrative exciting beyond compare. Just one thing, bring Stevie Wonder back in the next one, okay?

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Outstanding Rogue Warrior Adventure!, June 20, 1999
By
Just when you thought Richard Marcinko couldn't do better than SEAL FORCE ALPHA, he blows you out of the water again! OPTION DELTA takes you along as the Rogue Warrior and his merry maruaders team up with a clandestine German SpecOps unit as they track down missing US tactical nuclear weapons to a ruthless man-Lothar Beck, who pursues his own sinister agenda. The action gets a little slow in spots, but Marcinko doesn't leave you hanging for long. Overall, a great story; can't wait for the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Marcinko writes a cool action book, March 23, 2000
Richard Marcinko strikes again. His rough-and-tumble language add to the action and thrills of this book. And his years with SEAL Team SIX give him authenticity that most authors con't even compare with. Get this book if you are a military buff or just like nonstop action.

4.0 out of 5 stars Marcinko & Weisman back in top form, March 10, 2000
By A Customer
Sure, the Rogue Warrior series is formulaic and predictable, but then so were Louis L'Amour's westerns. They're nevertheless exhilarating reads and great projections of larger-than-life heroism, as are the Rogue Warrior books. We're not talking about great world literature here, but neither genre ever pretended to be high art.~~~"Option Delta" and "Seal Force Alpha" mark a decisive rebound from the lackluster "Destination: Gold", with Marcinko and Weisman back in slam-dunk storytelling form. The only downside to "Option Delta" is the flashback scene in which the Rogue Warrior himself uses the threat of torture against a no-goodnik - something which he condemned uncategorically (properly so,) way back in "Red Cell". 'Bad contradiction on a serious ethical point. Otherwise "Option Delta" is one of the best of the Rogue books, a great page-turner with a thoroughly plausible scenario. And as always, it's loaded with sobering and refreshingly blunt commentary on the dilapidated state of America's military under the two-ring-circus that is Clinton/Gore.

On the downside, it is very formulaic. Dickie goes on a mission, finds out something, investigates to find a rich guy creating a conspiracy. Confrontation and breaking and entering, followed by climatic battle with a stooge to show how tough Dickie is.

I'm not looking for literature but more twists would be fun. Give Dickie an arc where he changes a bit. How about some competent female shooters and looters as allies or enemies. Maybe take on someone outside the mold and really shake the formula up. Getting into his personal life might be fun too.

As always, a fun read that makes you think and laugh even if it fails to surprise
