Book Description

Book three of Covenant of Thorns

Pregnant, possessed, and in love with a man I don't dare to trust—those are the consequences of the risks I took to save my life. But Faerie, the land of blood and magic, is filled with bitter ironies, and the bargains I made now threaten me and my unborn child.

The darkly sensual fae noble Rogue still tempts me to danger and desire. As we await the birth of our child, I've been forced to question whether our offspring is part of a bargain Rogue once made to save himself. He can't tell me the truth due to a spell the vicious Queen Titania has him under. Would he betray our family against his will? Could I ever forgive him if he does?

Rogue insists on an eternal commitment from me, even as Titania's forces close in on us. I don't know if Rogue and I can withstand her onslaught, or that of the beast within me. But I will not stop looking for answers—even if it brings the walls of Faerie crashing down.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best fantasy stories I have read! September 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Holy freaking cow. Fantasy is not normally my genre of choice, but the way Jeffe Kennedy writes it, well, wow. Rogue's Paradise is the third book in her Covenant of Thorns series and by far my favorite. It's the culmination of everything Rogue and Gwynn have been through in the first two books. It's the book with the most emotional ups and downs. It's the book that shows the true, deep connection between Gwynn, Rogue, Faerie and the Human realm. It's also the book that shows what is going to come of Titania as well as Rogue, Gwynn and their child.

You really need to read the first two books in the series before you read this one. It is not a hardship, though, let me tell you. The entire series is quite an adventure. One of the things I like most about it is that the whole fantasy world of Faerie is looked at/lived in by a human. So, we get to see how a human reacts to it. Gwynn continues to journal since she looks at things scientifically and has a lot of theories about the Faerie. I have enjoyed watching Rogue and Gwynn grow throughout the series. Rogue is really starting to understand Gwynn's mind and Gwynn is starting to let go of needing some of those hard and fast facts that she craves.

Since I am very much a character-driven reader, my focus has always been on Rogue and Gwynn in this series. The fantasy and other world aspects came second to me. Jeffe does a fantastic job at the world building and always describes things in a way you can easily visualize. Because the story is in Gwynn's point of view and she is human, we are able to connect with her examples and analogies.

As with all of the books in the Covenant of Thorns series, the relationships between the characters is quite entertaining. From Rogue and Gwynn themselves to the secondary characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth Waiting For! October 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Rogue’s Paradise is the third book in the amazing Covenant of Thorns series by Jeffe Kennedy. This book culminates everything we’ve wanted to know, and see happens from the last two books. Rogue and Gwynn are together, although somewhat reluctantly on Gwynn’s part. They have to find a way to take care of Tatianna for good. In my opinion, the way their relationship grows, and the emotional up and downs play the biggest role. With enough sexy scenes to leave you breathless we get much more than we had in the last two books. Let me tell you, the wait was well worth it! I absolutely fell in love with Rogue in this book. Yes, he’s always been sexy, but we get to see an almost romantic and loving side to this dominant and demanding Lord. Gwynn was, as always, a very entertaining character to read. I love the way she brings familiar “human things” into the conversations and her thoughts in Faerie. Even when they are dealing with flying monkeys, and yes, there are flying monkeys, Gwynn and Rogue’s shared thoughts are at times humorous because of Rogue’s misunderstanding of Gwynn’s human perspective.

There are enough secondary characters to fill another book, and Jeffe Kennedy’s spectacular descriptive writing creates such a vivid visual landscape, I could not help but get pulled into the world of Faerie. I’ve been a longtime fan of Jeffe Kennedy so I wasn’t surprised at the depth of the characters or the imagery she created in this series, but I am completely blown away by Rogue’s Paradise! If you enjoy any type of Fae or Fantasy story, you have to pick up Covenant of Thorns! You do have to read the first two before you read this one, but you’ll fly through them and won’t be disappointed when you finish. Rogue’s Paradise is a 5 star Must Read!!

Rogue's Paradise (Covenant of Thorns) Jeffe Kennedy
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
I loved books one and two in this incredible trilogy. Its the kind of Fae story I love, lots of magic, humans and Fae and a few mythical creatures, with battles of wits more than guns, sorcery more than swords. Of course there’s a few “real” weapons used too – its not all magic providing the mayhem. Its such a clever plot too – right from the first pages I was hooked in, and now in book three so many little incidents that I almost missed have come into play.
I did have some trouble sorting out all the characters to begin but by now they feel like od friends – or enemies. Of course the delicious and mysterious Rogue is one that can’t be mistaken. He’s the same, although he’s also changed...oxymoron you think, but in some ways he is still the same person he was – knowing Gwynn for real, as opposed to how he knew her before has enhanced him, so that he’s still the same charismatic, calculating, controlling Rogue but he looks at problems in a different way now, thinking of what Gwynn would want him to do. He’s learning what Love is, something the Fae, for all they have so much, don’t seem to have. Of course there’s still the problems from books one and two – Gwynn has finally come to love Rogue but how far can she trust him, he does nothing without calculating far, far ahead for the consequences, and a little voice still shrieks at Gwynn “ is am I part of some plan of Rogue’s, and where does Titania fit in”. She’s in love with him, but still doesn’t really know him, and add in the geas Titania placed on him, that prevents him from telling her so much, and you can see why she is uncertain.
