This is a pretty handy, well made and serviceable leash. I have two. Both are the largest the company offers for big dogs. I do a tremendous amount of walking, for the most part along deserted roads and highways. Many of my walks are in early morning or late evening. I am never without one of our dogs with me. I needed a reflective leash and I needed a leash that was strong, water proof and short enough to keep the dogs close to me. Our dogs are good walkers, but more often than not we will either jump a deer or rabbit. I do not trust a dog that will not get excited over such an event, but do need a way to control them. This leash fits our needs perfectly.

One of the dogs I used this leash with was an extremely large and extremely strong Chesapeake Retriever (Sadly, she is no longer with us). This dog could have been rented out as a tow truck for large vehicles. I had no problems with breakage. The second dog is an older shepherd mix, very calm, a true lady. Again, the leash works perfectly.

This lead is easy on the hands and you can get a good grip on it. It is twist resistant and the snap works perfectly. I have had it out in all kinds of weather; no problems.

It should be noted that the reflective strands are only woven into one side of the product. I would have preferred they be on both. This is no big deal though...just something I would have preferred.

We also have Boston Terriers. I plan to purchase the smaller size for them. They are seldom walked during off light times, but there are exceptions.

While I have literally a tack closet full of various leads, I find myself reaching for these the majority of the time. This is a good product and the price is certainly a good one here on Amazon.

My only suggestion would be that if they are going to call it reflective:
1. Make it actually reflect something
2. Whether it reflects or not, put 'reflective' stitching on both sides of the leash. The inside of the leash is plain; therefore, even if it did actually reflect light [it doesn't] people on both sides would not be able to see the reflection, only people on one side would be able to see the purported reflection.

Since I don't care about this reflective feature too much, I give it 5 stars.

It's made of some pretty rugged nylon and it feels good in my hand. I bought the 3/4 in [fanbelt] and it holds back my 50 lb pitbull with ease.

This is a very nice leash. It is truly 3/4 inch wide with the correct size metal latch. It appears sturdy and well made. Mine had a tag that says "Made In South Africa". Great Quality. However, the reflective stitches should be on both sides. I still am considering buying more in different colors. Although the description says "Large", it is a perfect fit for my dog which is only 25-30 lbs.

I ordered this for my 130 pound Anatolian that needed to go on leash walks for months after having double knee surgeries. I thought it might be too light weight but it works wonderfully. He is an 'easy walker' so doesn't pull very much, but it holds well if I need to rein him in. Very well made and comfortable to the hand. I may order more for my other two smaller dogs.

I like the reflective stitching on all Rogz products that I have, and as usual, it is well made. But nylon is nylon. It WILL wear and your dog CAN chew through it. I rarely use this right now, I am using the cheaper ones and sometimes a chain, since my dog has been feeling rather "chewy" lately. I expect that now that her final puppy tooth has fallen out, that she will get a hold of herself and I can trust her with this expensive leash. So far, she has made progress not chewing her cheap ones, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I use this leash at least twice a day, usually 3 or 4 times, to walk my 40 pound yellow lab mix dog. It is the perfect weight, not really heavy like the other (very rarely used) leash I have, nor too light. It is also the perfect length. When I want him close to me, I simply curl it around my hand a few times with no trouble, then let it out when he gets the urge to sniff around, which is quite often. It clips easily to his collar, which is a plus when the dog is jumping like a lunatic to get outside!

We recently purchased two leashes (3/4- and 1-inch, both in black), a collar and a harness, all made by Rogz. While the collar and the harness seem fine, the leashes are not durable at all. Our dog playfully bit through them in no time while playing and grabbing at his leashes. When we contacted Rogz in South Africa and brought the flimsy nature of their leashes to their attention, their customer service had the following to say:
"The "tears/cuts" look very neat for teeth marks and we would have loved to have had the physical items to exam. Nevertheless, we can only assume that these leads were used for tie-outs. HLL leads should not be used as tie outs - only HLM (double stitched) can be used for Temporary tie outs. We are also concerned as to why the dog was chewing on the leash. This behavioural problem can be a result of boredom, anxiety, etc. and may need to be addressed."

First, they accused us of making these cuts. Then they contradicted themselves and said that we must have used the leashes as tie-outs which the dog chewed through. Of course, neither of this is true and we had told them as much in our original comments to them. But that's not all. Their arrogance and presumptuous expertise in all things dog led them to also suggest to us that our dog must have behavioural issues that needed to be addresses. Not cool! And terrible marketing and customer service!

We've decided to stick with a sturdier and much cooler brand (Lupine) and are determined never to use Rogz products ever again. Not only are Lupine products extremely well made, they are also guaranteed for life. Best of all, they are made right here in the U.S. (New Hampshire).
