A standout debut of musical influences, soul and talent,
This review is from: Rojo Relativo (Audio CD)
I first heard of Tiziano Ferro on Spanish radio and from MTV España; two of his videos (Alucinado and Perdona) are in near-constant rotation. I was instantly hooked on Xdono (Perdona in Spanish), a catchy tune that sounds suspiciously like the chorus to Craig David's "Can't Be Messing Around" off his debut album "Born To Do It." But Tiziano is no copycat--he wrote his own lyrics and music to every song, an impressive feat for a 22-year old. Tiziano joined a local gospel choir in his hometown of Latina, Italy when he was 16, which instilled in him a love for Afro-American music, which "Rojo Relativo" ("Rosso Relativo" in the original Italian) shows off very nicely, along with great mixing and slick production values. The thirteen songs are a mix of R&B, soul, and gospel in Spanish, Italian and English. Some tend to be more uptempo ("Perdona" and "Xdono", "Las Cosas Que No Dices," "Primavera Nunca Fue,") with softer, slower ballads in between ("Alucinado," "Y Mas," "El Confin"). Tiziano really shines when he belts in a soulful, almost gospel voice on "Boom Boom and "Soul-dier"--indeed, his English diction is better than some native speakers. The rapidfire lyrics, catchy rhythms (the aural equivalent of breakdancing on some of the fast songs), and beautiful slow songs (including my personal favourite "Alucinado" ("Imbranato" in Italian). Fans of Craig David, R&B, and neo soul should enjoy this fine debut outing by a rising star.

This North American EMI release comes with three bonus tracks: "Imbranato" (Italian version of "Alucinado"), a radio edit of "Alucinado," and a killer salsa remix by D-Menace of "Alucinado."

Absolutely stunning is what I can say about this album, this artist truely has talent beyond imagination. My favorites were Alucinado and Perdonna. Alucinado was also copied and ATTEMPTED to be sang by a Mexican Young artist named Yahir, But although sang with an Worthy effort Yahir's voice just does not come close to hitting the notes Tiziano hit. Tiziano is able to sing a sort Of European tecno upbeat Hip hop type of style but also beautifully change into a goose bump causing ballad style of singing. Tiziano is from Italy (obviously) He writes and composes his music. It is so disappointing that the spanish radio plays Yahir's version of Alucinado since he wasn't the original artist and does not have the talent of Tiziano. I smell racism all the way very unfortunate. Buy this CD you will not be sorry.

Rojo Relativo is a mix of Euro Pop, Hip Hop and R&B with a little of romanticisms in Spanish, Italian and English, TZN(Tiziano Ferro) did a really good job with Rojo Relativo, his writing style is extraordinary and catchy. " "Las cosas que no dizes", "Rojo relativo", "Perdona", are a great way to star the CD. This tracks are full of energy and rhythm that will make you move to the beat. "Alucinado' is the type of song that makes you shiver every time you hear it. At the middle of the CD it gets more into romanticisms and then were back to the beat with "Boom, Boom" a mix of Italian and English. The CD is a must buy, can't wait what TZN is going to do next.

Rojo Relativo is full of greats songs. I became a fan with Tiziano's Imbranato single from Rosso Relativo album. I don't speak Italian so I decide to buy Rojo Relativo. A great way to discover his latin part. Rojo Relativo reflects a lot of feelings in Alucinado, Si no hubiera nacido, El Confin. It also features Alucinado in original version, dance and tropical music". It's an incredible mix of hip hop, r&b, ballad and gospel. It's well put together -- Great cd! Favorites songs "Las Cosas que no dices", "Privamera Nuca Fue","Perdona",and "Rojo Relativo" favorites ballads, "Alucinado", "Il bimbo dentro, and "EL Confín". I just can't wait for his new Italian or Spanish Cd.

I accidentally came across this artist's music by listening to another (listening to the samples at Amazon), and decided to check more and hear the full songs on video. I fell in love with the sound of his voice, his strength and the rhythm of his melodies. Then I couldn't decide to either get him in Spanish or in Italian. I finally got this one in Spanish and will get the next one in its original Italian. Love the sound of Italian. I can't get enough of this man. Excellent artist.

if your into R&B and pop you gotta get this CD its gotta be one of the best CDs out this year in spa nish its got all that you want. Its got a style of its own you really can't compare him or the cd to anyone, but on perdona he does sound alot like craig david, but on the rest there's just no comparison. You know that if so many people give it a thumbs up, we can't be wrong. And if you can get ROSSO RELATIVO, (in italian) its even better than the one in spanish
