Product Description

Rokinon Circular Polarizing (CPL) filters remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass without affecting overall color balance. The images appear clearer with better contrast and improved color saturation, such as with blue skies and white clouds. These filters also provide protection for the lens and are ideal for digital and traditional 35mm cameras, including for black and white photography.

I bought this Rokinon CPL for my recently acquired Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD for my Nikon D3200. The 70-300mm alone is very sharp at 300mm without filters, and very good even with a simple Hoya UV filter at 300mm. However, with the Rokinon CPL, at 300mm, there is no resemblance of sharpness at all. Every picture looks out of focus despite using the VC, a tripod, rotating the filter, manual focusing... I tried it all. It remains usable mostly under 200mm as far as sharpness is concerned. It does very well at 70mm. If you are looking to use this filter as I was at 300mm, you should look for something else because this will leave you disappointed. This might be a very decent CPL for someone with an all-in-one lens like an 18mm-200mm.

It is multi-coated and does perform well in terms of reducing glare and bringing out more color in trees and the sky unlike non-multicoated CPL's. It is a little on the firm side in regards to rotation speed which is how I like it. You know that the filter stays in place, has a precise feel to it, and does not shake or rattle like some other CPL's I've had over the years.

I gave it two stars because despite the filter rings nice build quality and the sellers fast shipping, Rokinon dropped the ball with the optics part of it. I left off three stars because of it's absolutely complete and utter uselessness from 200mm-300mm on my lens. I would not call this a "High Definition" Precision Optic by any means, but when I want to shoot something under 135mm, for the price, this is not too bad. I will probably sell this once I have saved up for a more higher end CPL, but this holds me over for now.

I didn't expect much when I bought this, but it really works great. I use it to darken up a blue sky and was really surprised to see how well it works. A steal for 10 bucks.

I have very expensive lenses and I needed a circular polarizer for all of my lenses. These filters do not deter the image quality one bit and adds beautiful enriched colors and removes glare when necessary. This filter is a high quality, high value item.

It's amazing how a good circular polarizing lens can help your camera see through glare on the water and cut other glare. You can actually tune in the effectiveness by rotating the outer ring. You don't want to use them in low light situations because they cut down your lens by a stop or so. This is a good one for 62mm lenses and it comes at a very reasonable price.

I was looking for an everyday polarizer for my new Sigma lens and this works just fine. It's cheap and it gets the job done. No complaints.

P.S. I am not making big prints and having exhibitions at galleries.

Got this for my Olympus 12-40mm lens. It fits great and doesn't touch the front element (apparently an issue with some filters according to M43 forums). Does what CPL filters are meant to do.

I just received mine and out of the box I see a "Glaring" flaw. It is NOT coated at all, let alone multi-coated! I am for now giving 3 stars until I shoot with it as for decades polarizers were not coated and it might be okay for a $10.00 filter. I suppose I should have listened to that voice that was telling me 10 bucks for a multi-coated polarizer was too good to be true, but I have a Rokinon 85mm 1.4 that is superb and was a fantastic bargain., so I trusted the brand. Live and learn I suppose.

Wanted a circular polarizer for one of my lenses, but knew I would not be using it extensively, so decided to purchase this one because of so many good reviews on it. Not unhappy with the purchase ... it works well, does not diminish the quality of the images, and was shipped fast. Good price too!
