I did a little research and found that pink clams were a rather high-end item served at finer restaurants, so I summoned the courage to order these and WOW, they're great!
Open the can and you see a neat single row of totally fresh pink clams packed in water. The taste is mild, and they're maybe a bit chewier than other clams, but they're great. Eat 'em out of the can or put them on crackers. Someone who knows what they're doing could make great appetizers out of these things. Hooray for pink clams!!

I took a chance, and ordered these clams to see what they were like. They are wonderful, large and whole, neatly lined up in water. Taste is lightly clammy, refreshingly sea-like. Texture is tender, not overly chewy, unless you cook them too much (I use them as is or gently heat them during preparation). Very pretty, with a pink muscle mantel protruding from the body of the clam. They do have a bit of grit in the digestive area, but it is not bothersome.
