Simply wanted to echo the other review. I actually wear a two tone gold/steel one, but this is by far my most versatile watch. The dial is small enough that it isn't gaudy. This is my every day work watch as it matches pretty much everything due to the simple design. I do have some larger sport watches I wear on the weekends but this is my favorite.
In terms of the self-winding movement, simply get a self-winder box to store it when you're not wearing it. Keeps you from having to deal with the hassles of having the watch stop after not wearing it for a few days.

Classic Everyday Watch, February 23, 2010

I bought this watch 3 years ago and have never had a problem with it. I like its weight, its date function, the color of the dial, classic style and accuracy. I bought it at a luxury watch retailer and they gave me a discount, too!
I wanted something not too expensive, perpetual technology, good for everyday and something that looks good with a lot of functions of dress, i.e. suits, business casual, golf, very casual. It is very versitle and I can wear it will all types of functions, except maybe yardwork or black tie occasions. It is a bit too nice for working in the yard (or similar manual labor tasks) and not dressy enough for black tie because of the metal band, but you could easily wear it if you had nothing else dressier.
The only thing I don't like about it is if I don't wear it for a couple of days, and wear another watch, it stops. This would be true with any perpetual technology and not just isolated with this watch. I did not want another quartz watch because of the battery changing hassle.
The sales person sold me on this model because he said it looked really good with a white shirt, when wearing a suit. I wear a lot of white shirts or patterned shirts with a white background; it also looks real nice with other dress shirts, too, so it is not just for white shirts, but looks especially nice with them.
This is a very affordable, practical, presigious & functional watch.
