5.0 out of 5 stars A unique and addictive puzzle game
Containing over 150 levels of play, Roll Away requires you to traverse various gravity-defying mazes using a beach ball, of all things. Sound a little strange? Well, it is, but the gameplay is also wildly addictive. The game is very well-designed and features a smooth-as-silk learning curve and an enjoyable euro soundtrack. My only gripe is with the save system, which...

Well, it is, but the gameplay is also wildly addictive. The game is very well-designed and features a smooth-as-silk learning curve and an enjoyable euro soundtrack. My only gripe is with the save system, which can only be activated every few levels. This often causes you to back up and complete the same mazes over and over again until you can get to the save point. That little annoyance aside, Roll Away is one of those little gems in your software library that you will return to again and again just to get a little further. Not your run-of-the-mill game, Roll Away is sure to entertain puzzle fans for many hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars kula world: enhancing 3D-insight, October 21, 2002

This review is from: Roll Away (Video Game)
Such a pity we don't get more puzzle games these days. I'm sure there is a market for it! Anyway, Kula World leaves us dreaming for more. For me it's even more than a game, it's a way of improving my 3D-insight. Whish there were even more levels. I allways kept wondering what the coloured door in the last bonus level (with all the L-shaped 'things to walk on') is for. I never got to open it, but I like to dream about even more bonus levels behind it. Anyone? for now, I have 150 levels, 30 bonus levels, 15 hidden levels and 20 extra levels. more please?

I've had this game for a long time and I still play it quite often. I wish they would a Rollaway 2 because this is a great game. Its where you control a beach ball through mazes and you encounter obstacles like spikes, captivators, and falling blocks. You also collect fruit, which will get you to bonus levels. One of the most frusturating obstacles are the lethargy pills. They make the clock speed up and you slow down while everything is a blirr. This game has about 200 levels and that not even counting the bonus levels or the hidden levels. I'm only on level 79. So if you want some fun and challenging gameplay, Rollaway is the game for you.

I find this game highly addictive. It has tons of levels and simple controls. I picked up the controls in about 5 seconds and loved it! I recommend this to anyone who likes a game with nearly endless gameplay. Great game.

i was hooked on this game 5 minutes into playing it, the music, the graphics, the playability, the overall wham that it smacked into my face. im not usually into puzzle games, but i tried this out and i absolutely loved it, everything about it, it is just... perfect. u r a ball that goes through levels of blocks suspended in the air, sounds boring, but the way that they pulled it off was fantastic, if you like strategy puzzle games, get this, if u dont, get it anyway, i guarantee a good time while playing this. i would have its babies - 12 stars

If you enjoy puzzle and maze games this one is a blast. The visual 3D effect rotating through space while rolling and jumping is a bit trippy especially during the bonus rounds. It is easy to lose which side is up. I do suggest trying to rent it first since this game is not for everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun - even for a non-gamer!, April 12, 2002

I bought this game used for a friend and now I'm hooked! The rules are simple and you don't need to use many of the controller buttons so you can jump in and start playing right away. If you are lucky enough to find a copy, buy it! You'll spend hours rolling that bouncing ball through the various 3-D mazes looking for the keys before you run out of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A game that deserved more recognition, January 8, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Roll Away (Video Game)
I first played this game about 10 years ago while I was a kid. It was fun then, and still is to this day at the age of 21. It is a game designed for those who enjoy puzzles. This is basically like a 3D puzzle game. You are a beach ball, controlling your way through this 3D puzzle world in search of keys. These keys open up the exit block, which allow you to continue to the next level. Along the way you are, avoiding traps such as spikes that pop you or ice that causes you to slip off the edge, etc. The first levels are easy, but then you run into even more complications along the way such as invisible blocks or blocks with burners on them or blocks that only allow you to travel in one direction or blocks that break apart shortly after jumping on them. It is hard to fully describe how challenging this game can get through a review alone, but trust me this game gets hard as you get higher and higher into the levels! And it's fun too because it forces you to think! At times I'll find myself replay a single level 10 times, thinking of how I should complete it without failing again. And when I do figure it out I feel accomplished because it was so challenging. Sure it might be frustrating because it's hard at times to have to replay and replay and replay until you figure it out, but at the same time it is fun. It wouldn't be fun without a challenge!

Also, this game is rare. I have a copy right now at home that I plan to keep forever. I see some people trying to sell it for a pretty penny (not everyone, but a lot of people try selling it for $100+ on some websites). I wouldn't sell it for any price. It's far too much fun to give up. I also wish they would create a sequel, but I highly doubt it'll ever happen since this game didn't get enough recognition for a sequel. However, it most certainly deserved the recognition nonetheless.

If you enjoy puzzle games, I recommend this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A game of the century, not to be missed! Amazing game!, July 31, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Roll Away (Video Game)
This game is a very addictive, it is a puzzle game, but do not be put off! You are a beach ball on a 3D world of blocks travailing round, collection coin's and keys to open an exit to go to the next level. (I highly recommend watching you tube videos to understand what I mean.) The game comes in different versions, this one being the US version, kula world being the UK one, Kula quest being the Japan one. The game has 150 levles with about 15 'final levles' wich are the final test of your skill, the game goes on a very well done learning curve, adding new obstacle after each other in succession. The game has some of the most inspiring music of any game, and really compliment the game play well, putting you in gaming mood. the game has diffrent worlds, the maze is high above ground, starting with, (in their proper names:) Hiro (Egypt) Apline (Fields) Inca (grassy pyramids) Antarctica (ice world) Cowboy (rust) Fields (misty fields) Atlantis (blue sea world) Mars (alien world) Apocalypse (lava world).
Some of the problems with this game is that if you get stuck on a level, you cant skip, your stuck, and you have to solve it some how, usually you tube videos are the key. The game range is very simple, as in its almost like an arcade game, and not many features to it, although there is 2 player modes.
Check This game out on you tube to fully understand it, its an amazing game, one of the best ever for PS1, and is very rare. Even being a puzzle game, (even I hate puzzles) its very fun, you will not be disappointed!
