Big disappointment!!! Waste of time and money!!!,

The movie "Roll Bounce" has close to thirty songs playing though out it. So why does this lame soundtrack have less than half of those songs on it? What happened to KC & The Sunshine Band?, Donna Summer?, The Ohio Players?, Sister Sledge?, The Commordores?, Samantha Sang?, Heart? and a host of other artists heard in the film but nowhere to be found on the soundtrack!!!

Cover versions? No thanks,

I, for one, will be assembling the REAL versions of these songs -- as heard in the film -- off iTunes rather than shell out for new versions from current (bland) artists.

Disgusted,
By lsg (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Roll Bounce (Audio CD)
I was appalled that they would even make such a horrible soundtrack that didn't even do justice to the movie or the original songs. These new artist remakes need to quit playin! I am a serious old school fan and the original songs in the movie took me way back and I enjoyed them thoroughly. I was so excited to buy the movie with the soundtrack attached and when I listened to it, I was disgusted. I am also glad to see that your other viewers feel the same as I. If a soundtrack is made it should contain the original songs. If not, then at least try to make them sound good. I repeat, do not buy this soundtrack!!!

This soundtrack is EVERYTHING BUT SWEET,
By Jim E. B. (Hurricane Country) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Roll Bounce (Audio CD)
I'm an avid channel surfer and when I came across this movie on cable I locked on and enjoyed the rest of the movie. It's a good movie and the memories of my youth just poured over me.
I'm 37 now and grew up with roller skating rinks all over town...racing my friends with those cheesy rental skates, wiping out in my attempt to jump out onto the rug at hair blowing speeds, pigging out on pizza and wasting quarters on Space Invaders...all while these 70's classics are blasting overhead through giant speakers. God, I miss those days....:o( But the soundtrack is a calamity. A big lie. Soundtracks should be just that....sound (music) tracks from the movie. Not a lame attempt of new artists butchering these classic jams. It's not really the artists' fault but the creators of the CD. They must have realized that they were scamming us. I feel like I've been ripped off, in a major way. Luckily, I have the "Boogie Nights" CD so I can cleanse myself of these wretched cover tunes. (Beyonce, you're still pretty damn sweet, though)

Not Good,
This review is from: Roll Bounce (Audio CD)
Since the movie was so good, you'd think the soundtrack would be too, right? Wrong! Dead wrong!
Though I wasn't born in the 70s, I've heard plenty of music from that time (we pretty much play all of that, and then some in my house). My parents pretty much stick to the oldies, unless we make them hear something new that sounds like a throwback (like Alicia Keys, for example). My mom went to go pick up the soundtrack, thinking it was gonna sound like most of the tracks in the movie. She was mad that it was mostly remakes, and then demanded me to download all the songs off the movie and called it the "authentic soundtrack." I do agree with another reviewer though--you were better off listing the songs from the movie and getting iTunes or LimeWire to get the songs you heard, because with the exception of some of the original songs on this CD, the rest are remakes. If you're gonna re-create the mood of the 70s through a movie, at least have the music to go along with it!

when they decided NOT 2 include the actual songs used in the movie? I thought that's what makes a MOVIE SOUNDTRACK. I rushed 2 see the movie w/my girlfriends, and LOVED it. The music of this era (my personal favorite, btw) took me back 2 those days where life in general was more 'fun' than what the kids of 2day are experiencing.
The music of this era was fun; it made u wanna dance, and was the absolute BEST kind 4 the skating rinks. I bought the soundtrack in anticipation of hearing those songs and reliving what I consider the best years of my life. Stuck that bad boy in my CD player, ready 2 get my groove on, and ... hold up ... wait a minute! STOP THE MUSIC! WHAT IN THE HELL IS THIS MESS??? WHO'S SINGIN' BOOGIE OOGIE OOGIE?!? And PLEASE, will some1 PLEASE, PUH-LEEEZE stop Beyonce from remaking another damned song?!? Just STOP it, already--sheesh! I gave the thing 1 star 4 the 3 or 4 original songs they did decide 2 include. Needless 2 say, I'm not a happy camper about the way they duped people in2 believing this was a 'movie soundtrack'. I want my $$$ back!!! Can we sue the company 4 false advertisement?!? I'm totally blown ... P***ed off old school lover.

Somewhat of a bait and switch.,
This review is from: Roll Bounce (Audio CD)
The reason people go out and purchase a movie soundtrack is to listen to the song they heard in the movie they saw in the format they heard them in. Confusing? Allow me to elaborate. There were at least 4 tracks that I thought were great to listen to along with the rest. But! when I got the soundtrack those very same songs were either edited differently or not on the cd at all. Examples: The track that Bow Wow and "Sweeness" started their battle to: "Fire", was missing. Secondly, "Hollywood Swinging" in the movie was the ORIGINAL track. The one on the cd was a newer updated recording. Same song, yes. But the integrity of the original 1970's version was not there. Also, after such a feel good ending followed by the happy end-credit sequence, the "Boogie-Oogie track with Fabulous (Which is what I wanted to hear) was edited in a different lyrical order than in the film. When you're looking forward to something that you're led to believe is what you're getting, and then you're presented with something else, it's pretty dissapointing. The soundtrack is good. Then music is great, but it was NOT what was exactly in the film. It's not bad, just different in a not so good way.

WTF? Where Are The Originals?!!!!,

This review is from: Roll Bounce (Audio CD)
This isn't Joseph. I am his oldest DAUGHTER.
This is a RIP-OFF. We need the REAL versions of songs. The only two songs worth listening to are Chic's "Le Freak" and Foxy "Get Off". My question's are: Where's KC and the Sunshine Band's "Boogie Man?" Where's "Flashlight"? This is a seriously disappointing soundtrack. They need to release the REAL version and stop trying to promote artists from this one. - A Really ANGRY Roll Bounce Fan

I thought the soundtrack would have more of the actual songs that were featured in the movie, like greatest dancer by Sister Sledge. Also I would have preferred to here the original artists of the songs.
