Junk!,

Don't buy this junk. Seriously.
I play piano and I thought, how cool it would be to have a roll up keyboard I could travel and practice with. Forget about it. It is almost impossible to play anything except for plinking songs on this junk. Sometimes the keys work, sometimes they don't. Most of them you have to press so hard, you are pounding on the thing. It is like a martial arts finger pounding excercise!!!

We got this for my 7 year old daughter so that she could still play/practice piano when we are away from home. She loves it! It works really well and it's nice that it has several octaves rather than the one or two with most electronic (toy) keyboards. It needs a flat surface underneath (does not work well on carpet) so a table is best. Of course it is different from a piano with raised keys, so you have to sort of "bounce" your fingers on the keys rather than press down a "real" key, but that's not a big deal. It comes with an adapter, which is great because you don't have to worry about changing batteries or not having them with you when traveling.
The only complaint I would make is that there is not a good way or enough room to store the adapter cord in the travel bag. We still shove it in there, but I don't want the plug prongs to scratch or tear the keyboard, so we always put the cord in a small pouch first. If not for that, I would have given this product 5 stars. It would also be a good idea for them (or someone) to create a portable or folding table or stand for it, if they haven't already.

As a singer, I have looked high and low for a small keyboard (with a headphone jack, usually the deal-breaker) that I could store under my desk at my day job. This piano is perfect for me, as I can shut my door and roll the piano across my desk, and with only a few AA batteries I can avoid the mess of AC-adapter cords across my desk. The sound is better than I expected - I wish the piano had a little more sustain - but don't expect to see people gigging out at clubs with this thing. You need a firm surface to press on, so you can't take it just anywhere, but just about anywhere. This is a neat product, and I suspect that the next generation in this line will be even better.

MIDI function a disaster,
By Satisfied Pond Owner (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews

If you intend to use this as a MIDI input source, run, don't walk, in the other direction. About a third of the time, in addition to the note or chord you play, the keyboard generates either a D or an E more than an octave lower than the lowest note on the piano. In a music notation program, such as Finale, the result is a comical (unless you want the result) chord with the longest stem you've ever seen. A sequencing program such as Protools will represent it as a D-1 or E-1, but it's actually at least an octave lower than that. I gave the seller the option of replacing mine with a working unit, in the event that he could find one. He instantly refunded my purchase price -- a tacit admission that the problem is a design flaw and not a manufacturing fluke affecting just one keyboard.

I was excited about this as thought could practice at work during lunch or while traveling. I tried and tried to play this thing. It sounds like one of those greeting cards due to a tinny little speaker but with headphones it was a little better. Absolutely no cues to what notes your fingers are on as most of the notes sound the same. Save your money.

This Adult Piano Student can practice away from home,
This review is from: Roll Up Piano - Digital & Portable 61 Keys Roll-Up Piano Electronic MIDI Keyboard with 16 MIDI Output Channels Design
I was pleased to receive my order in the 3 days and the free shipping was a bonus. I am just learning and wanted something that would let me keep up with my practice while away from home. I find the keys sensitive to touch, which is good as I need to be more consistent in my hitting of the keys. While it is a far cry from my Baldwin, for the price I am pleased.

I have been playing the piano for over 20 years and I wanted to be able to practice my hobby anywhere without the fuss of setting up an electric piano or a dummy MIDI keyboard with a sound module and amplified speakers. I love the idea of a rollup piano, but after purchasing it I found out that it is far from a professional keyboardist toy. Not only are the keys very sluggishly responsive, but they completely fail to produce sound on up or down scale rolls. It does not have touch sensitivity so you cannot play expressively with it. I could play some romantic melodies with it, but completely failed to play rapid classics because of its responsiveness. It has MIDI out capability, but if it skips some sounds when playing without MIDI, how better can it be for MIDI output. Nevertheless, it has a good variety of well sampled and semiprofessional sounds and a convenient adapter and a sufficient loudspeaker for self training. My daughter (8 years old) also found it more amusing than here little toy piano for learning and training. I would say that it is a good toy, but it goes beyond that slightly with its professional quality sounds and 5 octave setup.

We bought this item as a gift for our daughter who auditions for opera roles all over the U.S. and needs a handy piano to warm up. She was very pleased with it and takes it on all her auditions.

Good working unit arrived. Definitely an import as the box was in asian script. Did include an english manual. My son used it while traveling in the car and on vacation to keep up his skills. Sound quality is what you would expect from cheap speakers. He says speakers sound better than headphones attached to it.
