This expansion is more than an addition to the original Rollercoaster Tycoon game, it's like a whole other game. Besides the original features (see my review for RCT) this game includes 25 new scenarios, new roller coaster types, new attractions (rides, ride enhancements, stalls, and shops), new colors and painting techniques, new landscaping items, new landscaping themes, more entertainers, and more.

That may seem like a lot of new things, but it's less than it seems. That's why I gave it four stars. Another game: almost all of those things have to be earned in one way or another. Like you have to get the rest of the scenarios by starting with the first five new ones (like the original game), and you have to research the attractions, themes, entertainers, etc.

Another cool feature is that you can have almost all the rides play music. There are a lot of them too (like rock, techno, gentlle, horror...) and it really adds a lot of life to the park, to you and your guests. As a whole (the RCT and the expansion) this game is a sure winner. But Corkscrew Follies alone is not the best or the biggest expansion for RCT, but it's sure worth a hard-earned twenty bucks.

Okay, maybe that's a bit much, but this game rules! The original version is great (you need it to play the Expansion Pack), so buy it and this. I don't know yet if Sim Theme Park is any good, as I haven't played it yet, but it will have to go a long way in order to top this super, ADDICTIVE game. I haven't played Sim City since I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon. The different rides and the roller coasters are great. But building your own coasters and water slides is the really fun part. I can't say enough about this game. Buy it, and then clear your schedule, because you won't be traveling very far from your computer screen!

This game makes RCT even more enjoyable with new attractions like miniature golf and a ghost train with undergroung sections! You can even build a suspended monorail! There are 30 new scenarios. you can start your park that it partially built, futuristic, or long-neglected. Also, you can paint individual parts of you ride. And, there are about 20 new shops such as: candy apple stall, hat stall, sea food stall, hot dog stall, and... you can even build a mall! And to top it all off, there are new rides such as, a river ride with large capacity boats, circus tent, side friction roller coaster, heartline rollercoaster, steel and wooden twister rollercoaster with giant loops, virginia reel rollercoaster, steel wild mouse rollercoaster, log flume with turntable, miniature train with covered cars, a roto-drop and much much more. I higly suggest you buy this game. You will be crying with overwhelmedness over all the excitment!

If you are getting this game you must have the first game, so im sure you already know how fun it is. This add-on pack makes it 10 times better. There are about 10 new path styles, at least ten more coasters, 1 more staff, tons of new gentle rides, and even a new water ride. Also, there is TONS more scenery. And last, but not least many more great scenarios. I found it more of a challenge than the original, but that just adds to the fun. If you liked the original, then you will LOVE the add-on. Well worth five stars.

If you thought Roller Coaster Tycoon was a great game, you will love this new expansion pack, Corkscrew Follies. It introudces new elements. New rides, like the Mini-Golf and Space Rings, are a great way to expand your park. New shops, like the sea food stall, are more ways to keep your guests entertained. The new parks, like Haunted Harbor, are great was to keep your mind busy with new challenges. Most of all, the new roller coasters, like side friction, heartline, and steel twister coaster, create endless ways to create a park.

The new levels are in perfect design to challenge the mind. In Haunted Harbor you have to get 1,000 guests into the park, but you can not get rid of 2 very old rides, which crash a lot. In Barony Bridge, you have to creat a successfull park with a cramped area on a bridge.

The new roller coasters add much more fun to the game. The limitations are your money and imagation. There are so many combinations of roller coasters, it's mind boggleing.

This add on is a great new feature for this game, if you like Roller Coaster Tycoon and you want to add more to the game, this is the add on for you.

Roller Coaster Tycoon and its new add-on, Corkscrew Follies, are superb at getting and keeping my attention. The program has so much happening at once, especially after a park is relatively well built up, and is non violent and tons of fun! It was fun and action packed! This is the equalizer! I don't have to run with the wolves killing other creatures to have some fun! I can (and have) also downloaded rides from their website with a link built into the program! I recommend this highly!

Corkscrew Follies adds an exciting twist to Roller Coaster Tycoon. It comes with a lot of new rides/attractions, stalls/shops, ride enhancments and even different colored queing lines! You can also put banners across the footpaths, dividing the park into different themed zones. This is a must with the original Roller Coaster Tycoon Note: Scrolling down on the list of scenarios will reveal the ones from the original RTC.

For benefit of the doubt, I gave Corkscrew Follies 4 stars, because 3 was too low and there is no 3.5. Yes, Corkscrew Follies is a decent and pleasing expansion to Roller Coaster Tycoon and offers many new scenarios and editing capabilities to the original, but it seemed slightly rushed and there were many obvious additions that should have been made but were not. Let's hope they end up in the second expansion slated for the summer of 2000.

There are a few more Roller Coasters, and Gentle Rides, and a Great expansion of the shops and stalls one can build. However, I was a bit let down with the minimal amount of Thrill Rides. Also, though Scenery was expanded and what was added is beautiful, it could have gone much, much further.

A real nice addition is the ride 'foot-printing' and the sound files for specific rides, and the expanded color options. The detail on sprites and new graphics is incredible.

Now the scenarios...Yes, unlike many expansion this does very well in delivering MANY more scenarios that will keep you posted to your screen for hours on end, you definitely get your moneys worth here. However, where as the original scenarios were a tad easy, the expansion scenarios are a bit hard at times. You are so rushed on meeting requirements at times, you don't have the time to truly design the ride you wanted to make, but rather forced to using the pre-built coasters in any available space you can find. This detracts from the main function of the game...the chance to build and experiment your own steel monsters.

If you played and enjoyed Rollercoaster Tycoon, then Corkscrew Follies will give you more of the same kind of fun. The other reviews here adequately describe the new features. What they don't say is that the new scenarios are harder (in some cases MUCH harder) and that the original scenarios are no longer available after you install this expansion. So you can't use any of the new features with the original game.

If your an addict of the original game Roller Coaster Tycoon as I was, you will want this expansion pack. However, don't waste your money to acquire this add-on, purchase the latest add-on Loopy Landscapes, as this game is included. No sense in paying for this game twice as I did.
