It's Okay, but why when you can have David B.'s Book?,
By
This review is from: Roller Coasters (Enthusiast Color) (Paperback)
I Bought this book at the store because it was cheaper and compact...Dumb Idea. I was mad at how it's name was Rollercoasters instead of "Rollercoasters:Woodie's and More". The only pictures I really liked were the big Cobra Roll of Alpengheist on the Back and the T2 picture on Page 8. I would tell everyone to buy David B's book instead because 1) It's a couple years ahead, 2) Beautiful Pictures of both Wood and Steel coasters, 3)It's Clear and Easy to understand, and 4) IT'S ACCURATE. Some of the things in this book are off by miles, from Opening Dates, to Height and Lenghth, Even Type!(i.e. Wood Out and Back Oval). The only reason I would tell you to buy this book is because it can fit through your door(David B's Book is kinda big!) and it's 6 to 8 Bucks cheaper! Or you may be a Woodie Lover. Otherwise buy David B's Book!

Nice Catalog,
By Nathan A. Unterman (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Roller Coasters (Enthusiast Color) (Paperback)
This book is a nice catalog of coasters, but little else. Not very substantive. Rutherford's later book, The American Roller Coaster is a much better value.

A good book for casual enthusiasts, but lacks substance.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Roller Coasters (Enthusiast Color) (Paperback)
This book contains lots of useful information, however it does have some very obvious omissions in its coaster census, notably smaller and seemingly unimportant steel rides. Also within are some informational errors in the ride descriptions, as well as a typo here and there. But there are many nice full color pictures and enough content to give you idea where the nation's most well known parks and coasters are; but for the hard-core enthusiast, this book can be somewhat of a disapointment, and rather than reading it for what it has, you begin to look for the next error.

Not Very good,
By Joseph Sammut (San Bruno, CA United States) - See all my reviews

This book might have been good when it came out, but now is just outdated. Some of its facts are wrong, and the writing is somewhat crude for enthusiasts. The pictures are wonderful though.

Mainly Wooden Coasters,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Roller Coasters (Enthusiast Color) (Paperback)
This book's main focus was on wooden coasters, so if you are not too excited about wooden roller coasters, don't get the book. The book does have quite a few photos, however. There are some steel coasters; such as Steel Phantom and Alpengeist, but there are more wooden coasters. Overall, the book was pretty good; it provides a comprehensive overview of many of the roller coasters found in the US.

This book is Really good!,
By ashbk@aol.com, my name is Michelle (Alexandria, Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews

Hello, to all of you roller coaster fans! Well, you don't have to be a coaster fan like me to enjoy this book. It has really good COLOR pictures, (I love the one on page 48!) Not only does it have great clor pics in it, but it provides exellent info on where the best coasters are, and what they are like. Also, if you need to find a book where it locates just about every coaster in the world, I would reccomend: The Roller Coaster Lover's Companion, by Steven J. Urbanowicz. (You'll find that I have written a review for that book too.) That one's really good also. By the way, if anyone loves roller coasters like I do, and they've been to Cedar Point, EMAIL ME!
