Book Description

July 27, 2005
As identity theft continues to spiral out of control, the American public must first learn that nearly all identity crimes today comes from inside sources. The problem with identity theft today is that while it continues to escalate, we have not had any organzied crime heads from the inside help show how it really works. Identity theft is the only crime America has seen that you can't infiltrate; because of the way it is structured.until now. For nearly 20 years, Ronald Hemphill recruited employees from the largest corporations in this country. Until companies are held liable for the information they handle, identity theft will continue to grow. Learn how criminals buy profiles and other information from bank and credit-reporting agency employees, and employees from any other industry you can imagine, and what is done after that information is gathered, then you will understand why we see so many security breaches that will continue to spiral upward. You will be amazed when you take this fantastic journey on the inside mind of one of the most prolific identity thieves America has seen. This book will teach you how to protect yourself and your business. You will learn: · How identity theft works from an insider's perspective · Why employees sell-out the companies they work for · The new wave of identity theft coming · Prevention methods to stop it · Techniques identity thieves use to help each other · Why company security breaches has escalated from 30,000 to 40 million potential victims in four months Ronald Hemphill is an independent consultant specializing in identity theft prevention. He is the co-founder of Identity Theft Help and Information Network. He was a career criminal and one of the architects of what we now know as identity theft. He was the mastermind of a multi-million dollar organized identity theft ring with over 60 people around the country working for him. He is now a born-again Christian righting the wrongs of his past.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and Interesting..., June 20, 2006
This review is from: Rollin': True Confessions of a Former Identity Thief (Paperback)
In general I loved the book. I find it informative, helpful, and an interesting memoir of the life of a true identity theft redeemed.

If I had one complaint about the book at all, it would be that there was not enough of it! I found myself fascinated by the stories Mr. Hemphill told of his life, and wanted to know more about his life and the things that happened to him. Personally, I think this book, if adapted properly, would make a great movie!

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money! This book is not worth the cost!, August 24, 2009
This review is from: Rollin': True Confessions of a Former Identity Thief (Paperback)
I was very disappointed when I read this book. I felt like I waisted my money. Over half of this book was about Mr. Hemphill's childhood and family, blaiming society for mistreating blacks for the reason he became a "Robin Hood" [thief]! The other half of the book offers no real information about how identity theft is committed or how to protect against it. The style of writing is confusing, and, in parts, makes no sense at all. The reader is left wondering how Mr. Hemphill justifies his self-proclumation of being a "mastermind of a multi-million dollar organized identy theft ring." If you want to learn about identy theft, save your money on this book.

I agree with the person that says there is "no meat" in this text. It is funny to see that Amazon is also trying to bundle this book with the T.Carter book that is also poorly written. Both feel like blog posts by ghetto people who couldn't make it any other way in life so they dabbled in fraud. Their practices are not relevant to today and even if they were the books do not share enough detail. Their information is very speculative since they're speaking strictly from experience and guesses instead of technical research into how banking/check processing works.
