Definitely Different,

I have been listening to KMK since Saint Dog, and this CD is most definitely the biggest change in their music since Royal Highness. It seems like every second or third full length that they release their sound changes dramatically. Unfortunately this CD is no exception. The punk rock sounds of Royal Highness are kicked into overdrive thanks to DJ Bobby B and the awesome drumming courtesy of Lou Dog. The rapping on this CD is a lot weaker than it is on other CDs, they sing. I wasn't expecting songs like Positive Vibe and Full Throttle after the smash hit High Society. The sound is a lot less Reggae/Rap and is more Punk/Pop/Rap. For those of you that got started listening to KMK because of High Society I say beware. If you dig their older stuff, especially Royal Highness, than you will probably dig this album as well - but this is not the sound from High Society. On top of all the other changes, the theme seems to be changing. I mean they still sing about Ganja, but to a much smaller extent. They are getting more and more into the whole "We got hoes and are phat paid" sell out sound. The only really cool thing about this CD is the fact that they have Crack Head Willie their old Basketball coach that actually introduced the band to each other on the intro's for this album. Over all this CD is worth buying if you are a big KMK fan and have been for a while but this isn't going to be what you are expecting!

Rollin' Stoned,

Aahh. Finally the Kings return with the 4th full length album. 6 years later, less one orignal member, and they still know how to get down. At first listen, several tracks off Rollin' Stoned share very few characteristics of previous works. Although the Kings keep their tag-teaming rhyme style throughout, several songs display a strong punk rock influence (Full Throttle, Zero Tolerance, Sub-Noize Rats just to name a few) which was almost non-existant on previous albums. The content of the Kings work has not changed, nor will it, hence the name, Kottonmouth Kings. The theme has stayed the same from day one, "live while you live," and smoke a lot of weed. Personally, I feel as if this album shows how the group has matured musically over the past few years. Not only to the beats seem to be more technical thanks to Bobby B, but each member actually sings! Also, this is the first Kottonmouth Kings album to use the 'interlude' feature the Kings very own old basketball coach. To sum: The new album is great, although the style has seemed to change from hip-hop to more rock. For you devoted fans, give it time. Kick back and LISTEN to what these guys say. Don't let the new sound change your ideas about the group.

This album is an underground classic! No bad songs on this album at all. I highly recommend this album to everyone, wheather you're a rap fan or a punk fan, it dosen't matter, this album has something for everyone. Even my mum likes some of KMK's songs (Positive Vibes, Let The Sunshine, Peace Of Mind, Tangerine Sky), and my mum hates all rap usually lol. Anyways, everyone should buy this album. \

Lets roll and get stoned,

Ok lemme just start off with this.. KMK IS DA BOMB! heheThe Kottonmouth Kings knows how to tear things up on every c.d. they have. In my personal opinion, this is the best mix of beats I have ever heard come from them. They mix rap with punk, rock and mellow beats that will either get you jumpin or just relaxing to the rhythms. On this c.d. there's a selection for all music lovers. "Tangerine Sky" is a mellow kick back song along with "positive vibes" and "rest of my life". Then you get the punk rock songs like "subnoise rats", "full throttle" and others. Then the rap selection like "4-2-0" and others. This is a great C.D. and I immediately urge you to buy it now.

Rollin' Into An Alternate Style...,
By
This review is from: Rollin Stoned (Audio CD)
The Kottonmouth Kings have always performed with many different types of styles in their music, and Rollin Stoned doesn't fork off from this idea at all. The band has sounded a bit different ever since vocalist Johnny Richter replaced Saint Viscious, and they have more of a "flowing" sound to them in a way. This CD has a different sound than other KMK albums, but I was expecting such before buying it, and now you should be too.The disc starts out with a hard rap song, "Sleepers", which talks about the whole world sleeping on KMK's music. It's a good start and gets you into their voices. Another couple of hard songs are passed, with "Full Throttle" and "4-2-0". Stopping at 6 and 7 we see the album change into more of its true hidden sound: very positive and summertime/happy music. "Positive Vibes" describes this perfectly - lots of singing (mostly Richter) and rapping over a very good and light beat. Track 8 is called "Zero Tolerance" and I love this one... It's about having no tolerance for the rules and regulations of this country. A standard anti-law Kottonmouth song. Back to the light-heartedness, "Float Away" blasts us with another memorable happy chorus about music. Skipping a few tracks, we come to track 13, "Rest Of My Life" which is simply about smoking weed for the rest of their lives. It has a catchy tune and is an overall good song. From here on, a lot of the tracks are slightly harder than average, and some notable good ones are, "Strangez Dayz", "Tangerine Sky", and "Built To Last". Overall this CD is a very good listen. Whether you're new to the Kings or a hardened Vet, you're probably going to at least like this new style. Still the same old KMK, yet evolutionized in a way. Most of the songs are worth listening to, with little fillers or tracks to skip. Overall Rating: 90 / 100

This is the latest album from the King's. It is there most versatile album yet. They play everything from psychadelic(Positive Vibes) to punk rock (Sub-Noize Rats) to hip-hop (Built To Last.) I'm sure no matter what music you are into at 4-2-0 the King's are the only band that need to be playin'.Continuing the spread of their peace and love,

If you had asked me before I bought Rollin Stoned what my favorite Kottonmouth Kings cd was I would have probably told you Royal Highness. However, Rollin Stoned is right up there with it. It is a pretty adictive cd and one of the best if not the best kmk cd. The first day I bought it I only listened to it for 15 minutes then more and more as the days went on. It has a truly perfect blend of, rap, mellow songs, and punk. So, if you're just getting into kmk I really recommend this cd or Royal Highness. This cd is so good picking three, four or five favorite songs is pretty tough but if forced to I would say Sleepers, 4-2-0, Positive Vibes, Zero Tolerance and Pushin' Limits. Now, on another subject it seems alot of people get s*it for listening to bands such as Insane CLown Posse, Twiztid and Kottonmouth Kings. I really don't get it. I love Black metal, Heavy Metal and Death Metal as much as the next guy but I have what some people call a "variety" I listen to more than one genre or sub-genre of music because in all honesty i'd rather listen to music I love and be made fun of for it than act like I don't just because i'd be made of for it. Also, why the hell do they make fun of it? I mean, it isn't some mainstream Ja Rule Linkin Park crap. It doesn't get played on mtv and the radio. I mean, everybody is allowed to an opinion on something but there is no need to make fun of people for being themselves and loving what they love.
"You can't be afraid You can't be scared To throw your fist in they air And gett'em up on sight SIZE DOESN'T MATTER IT'S THE FACT THAT YOU FIGHT" "Pushin' Limits" - Kottonmouth Kings

Grow up,

All you haters saying how KMK sold out need to eatadick. Anybody can freakin make beats with a keyboard and rap to it. On this album they actually construct full songs. I've been a fan since Stoners Reeking Havoc and I love this CD. So all you little teeny-boppers talking about selling out need to grow up and realize that its called "evolving."

One of the year's (and the Kings') best releases!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rollin Stoned (Audio CD)
I've been listening to this album a lot this year, and having just seen them put on a great live show I can tell already that I'm going to afiliate this time in my life with the Kottonmouth Kings. People have been saying negative things about this album, but I'm not suprised. People who don't like the Kings say that this is a bunch of white guys rapping about getting drunk and stoned, and is the kind of thing fratboys listen to. But that's what they first said about Liscenced to Ill. Plus, some longtime fans (and I am a longtime fan) are saying that they sold out by experimenting with reggae, rock, slower songs, and more of the punk rock that they've been doing recently. But that's what longtime Clash fans first said about London Calling. My point is that this is a fantastic album that succeeds on many levels and reaches many heights. The punk songs are possibly the only thing keeping the genre alive, with horrible poppy emo and mainstream pop-punk bands that fill out arenas and dominate MTV and the airwaves getting blown out of the water in comparison. And the white rapping puts all rap-metal acts to shame, and simply annihilates frat-boy posers like the Bloodhound Gang and recent ICP. And the range is remarkable; one would never guess that many of the songs came from the same record, especially in this day and age. Their flowing is as great as ever, and the experiments are all risks that the band should be accoladed for, and not only that, they work amazingly! One of the year's few must buys, a great addition to the Kings' catalogue, and (you heard it here first) and album that will be talked about for years.

Yo!, Kottonmouth Kings are by far one of the best music groups out there, they've got an awsome sound unlike any other group and are true to there fans. I've been down with the Krown for about 4 years and meet a couple of the members at various shows...this cd is tight adds to the rest real nice, its got alot of different sounds and awsome to chill to...Andrew Jenkins gave it a bad rapp and claims to be down with the krown...well if he was really down with the krown then he would enjoyed the new beats that the Kings produced!!(and if your reading this Andrew you dont call the group KK its KMK)and they didnt go mainstream or turn pop....and dont ever compare them to dave matthews band again please..anyway check out Saint Dogg and Phunk Junkeez !! coming soon to a venue near you!!
