The town, once a thriving and growing community, was now rotten and Tyler Holt the one man who could not be browbeaten lay dead lynched by a mob. It was all down to Tom Quinn, the men who had led in the first settlers, to burn out the cancerous sore that Stratton had become. Worse still, the surrounding land of Stratton Valley with its lush grass rightfully belonged to Tom.
