My six-year-old first grader was able to read this book by herself with minimal help. She enjoyed having a book with a plot and loves mysteries. She tried to predict what would happen at the end which is important for reading comprehension at this age. I do wish the author would have explored some of the clues more thoroughly, giving the reader more chances to predict. However, it is a fun story and I would recommend it for readers just starting "level 2" books.

My sons like to read detective stories and this one attracted their interests too. If the clues for solving the mystry are more convincing, I belive my sons will love it better.

"Rollo and Tweedy and the Ghost at Dougal Castle" is an excellent children's mystery for the young reader, but due to a mismatch in Amazon's review database, it seems that the book is currently being described as something about a pre-teen boy with a mother who was once a Playboy Bunny.

Needless to say, this book is about two mystery-solving mice and is properly aimed at early readers.
