5.0 out of 5 stars World's best Rolls-Royce & Bentley Book
Of all the books I have about these automobiles, this one is the best with excellent copy and wonderful photographs.

This book is a piece of crap.
Reasons:
Photography quality is poor
The history of both Rolls-Royce and Bentley is inconsistent in the development of both cars over theie production history
Key areas are abbreviated such as the Phantom II & III and the 20/25. Most custom coachwork is reserved for post WWII while there is not much of a spectrum in...

Key areas are abbreviated such as the Phantom II & III and the 20/25. Most custom coachwork is reserved for post WWII while there is not much of a spectrum in the pre-war models.
The printing of the book in a landscape format instead of a portrait format my seem a nice way to presenting full views of the cars but it also cuts down on the author's need to write a whole lot of text.

Give me one of the Dalton Watson books on the Rolls any day of the week.

After all what do you expect from the publisher of a weekly car newspaper - quality?

I have an extensive library with a large section on Rolls-Royce and Bentleys. This collection is often lent out. There are only a few books that I would never lend and this book is one of them. There are too many miss-identified photos, even if pretty, and text errors to list. In a reference book meant to teach its subject this is not acceptable. The many errors may be taken as truth by those not as familiar with the subject. Those who are familiar with the subject will be disappointed. I have many books written by Graham Robson and all of them are excellent and contain no errors, even minor ones. Did he actually write this thing? Who researched (and messed up) the photos? I bought a copy at great discount immediately after it was published and after reading it thought perhaps the book had been withdrawn. Unfortunately I was wrong.
