I enjoyed this book very much, not just because of the wonderful portrayal of modern Israel (which was spot-on) but because I found the characters really developed and real. I found myself thinking about them well after I finished the book. Very natural dialogue, nice story.

Picked this up after enjoying the author's other book (Beyond the Palace) and found it to be even better. One of those books that was very difficult to put down. I really like that Goodman is very skilled at both developing her characters and building an immersive setting. I find most authors tend to be better at one or the other, but too often I find the other aspect lacking in most books, so I really find it to be treat when I have a good story that takes me somewhere new (despite growing up jewish, I've never been to Israel - and like the main character in the story, never really had any desire to). I hope to be able to read many more books by this author in the future.

I felt as though I knew the characters in Roman Glass. I was there with them! This is a good read. I enjoyed the story and loved the history. Wouldn't this make a great movie. Mrs. F

This novel is a MUST READ. The transition of Danielle is not only amazing, but everyone can at least relate to her in some way. Danielle's relationship with Eyal is a fairytale. This book should be turned into a movie, go buy it now!

this story is so realistic -- it is hard to believe it is fiction! If you have been to Israel, are thinking of going to Israel, or have never been to Israel, this is a great story to read. There is a lot of action and banter. You are not stuck with too much description. The title becomes very meaningful towards the end, so be patient.
