I got this for the neighbor. We have a pickle for our tree and I think that it is a great tradition to start. Although I like the pickle that we have for our tree better, I could not seem to find it. This was a cute substitute. I like that it comes stored in a jar, even though the jar itself was too heavy to hang on the tree (it comes with a string to do so). It makes a very nice gift.

Our youngest daughter is 21 and moved out of the house and out of state just this past summer. Today she texted me and asked if I would send her Christmas stocking and a glass pickle - she is homesick and wanted to share the tradition with her roommate. It was fun for me but it was so cool to know my kid cared.

My mother-in-law is a German immigrant and has spoken fondly of this tradition from her childhood. Quite a clever way of expanding the fun.

My husband and I exchange ornaments every year. I got this one for him last year since he is part German, and it is definitely a fun addition to our tree. Very good quality, and a fun new tradition to start!

This is so cute! The pickle is made out of resin or something like that. Very realistic. Bought it as a gift.

I ordered this item on December 21, 2010 and it was supposed to be delivered by December 31 and I just got it on January 13, 2011. I will honestly say I will never buy from them again. They never sent me an e-mail saying that it would be late. It just showed up 2 weeks late...
Item was nicely packed with a lot of bubble wrap so the glass bottle would not break. Just UNTIMELY arrival and no noticew whatsoever of it being delayed or late.

I ordered this pickle as a present because my family always followed this tradition. I looked through all of the pickles on Amazon and a few on other websites and finally decided on this one. I chose it because I thought the color looked good; I didn't want one that was too shiny or bright green. I love the color on this one, and it can be hidden very well. It's also a nice size. I like the container it comes in, good protective inside to keep pickle safe, nice size and look, and it has the story of the pickle on the sides. It does come with a string to hang it up on the tree, but it's too heavy. This isn't a real negative for me because I wouldn't have hung it up anyway and the pickle is the real product here. Not all the pickles even come with a container, so it was a nice addition for storage.

I bought the "Christmas Pickle in a Jar" ornament as a hostess gift. I was going to a traditional German Christmas and this was perfect! It's so cute and I like that it comes in it's own "pickle jar".
