NEW LINE CINEMA's colorful history includes releasing "Reefer Madness" in the late '60s, as well as several of John Waters' films. Their first big commercial success was the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. Since then, NEW LINE has distributed "Lord of the Rings," "Austin Powers" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Ted Turner purchased the company in 1994. It became a WARNER BROS. subsidiary in early 2008.

This "NEW LINE ROMANTIC COMEDY 4 Pack" is a mixture of good to middling films, with "Don Juan DeMarco" being the best of the lot.
Also recommended is ROMANTIC COMEDY: 4 FILM FAVORITES (another WARNER's product), which offers a similar mix of mid '90s movies.


SYNOPSES--

THE BACHELOR-- In order to inherit a fortune, a marriage-phobic man must take a bride before his 30th birthday. Remake of a stageplay first brought to the screen in 1925 ("Seven Chances," starring Buster Keaton).

BED OF ROSES-- Love-at-first-sight brings a shy florist out of his shell. He romances a career girl and sweeps her off her feet.

DON JUAN DEMARCO-- A young man attempts suicide while garbed in a swashbuckler costume and is placed under a psychiatrist's care for 10 days of intense therapy. During these sessions, the patient insists he is the famous lover, Don Juan and reveals a detailed past to support his contention.

LAWS OF ATTRACTION-- Two competing NYC divorce lawyers clash and later date, fall in love and marry while visiting Ireland.

I just bought for two of the movies but I liked them all!

I'm not a huge chick flick lover, but my Mother is and she loved this gift. This is a great addition to your library or gift for anyone who swoons over fun, romantic comedies. The true gems here are definitely the tear inducing brilliant transfers of Untamed Heart and Don Juan. Enjoy!

All 4 of the movies on this DVD are not great movies, but they are good enough if you are looking to watch a light-hearted love story. I would recommend this to you if you like "candy" movies.

Oh these just aren't great as a grouping goes. Laws of Attraction maybe some could like and The Bachelor and Bed of Roses....did I even watch those? They all sort of ran together in a bog. But the
creme of the creme horror was Don Juan DeMarco. It made my skin crawl and sick with seeing how one
great actor was put out there for us to what mock. Once upon a time 2 great actors but no one could save this film from going down. Did I make it to the end...sadly sort of...I ended up reading while it played out. Marlon Brandon should never have been put in this film...and neither should have Fay Dunaway or the young Depp.....I would like to see a reward show for "worst films ever" and anyone involved with the directing or cutting or script or finale product of this film should take top honors. And all forced to walk a black carpet of SHAME. Don't forget I warned you...do not watch this sad pathetic film. If you have history with any of the other three then perhaps each on it's own...skip this tortured set.

If you do not mind fullscreen (shame) this is a good buy.

If you require widescreen (the way movies are meant to be viewed), do not purchase this 4-film, 2-DVD set. They are all in fullscreen format, and amazon.com is repairing the misinformation in their product description.
