Romance, or...?

I'd like to point out that while these books are marketed as "BDSM erotica/romance" fiction, they lack three key elements of a BDSM relationship. Consent, communication, and trust. The relationship between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey is not one of a BDSM nature- in my mind it is abusive. Ana had no previous knowledge of BDSM dynamics when Christian thrust the lifestyle upon her and repeatedly neglected to make sure she was consenting. It's unwise to glorify such a thing as "sexy." Trust is sexy.
