A Great Introduction to Roman Culture!,
This review is from: Who Were the Romans? (Starting Point) (Paperback)
I would especially recommend this book for homeschooling parents who want a lively and interesting introduction to Roman culture for their children. Written in question and answer format, children will learn how modern culture compares and contrasts with the ancient world. How do you put on a toga? Did Roman women wear makeup? How were mosaics made? What was it like inside a roman house? Did they have toilets? Who and what were gladiators? Did the Romans have zoos? The color illustrations are terrific! A great book for older elementary and middle school students!

This book is good to show the children what it probably looked like in the Romans' day, although it is illustrated with considerably less portrayals of blood-letting than would be common for Ancient Rome.

This book is a wonderful introduction to Ancient Rome for an elementary student.
The book has many, many interesting pitures and the writing is entertaining as well as educational. This book piqued the curiosity of my first grade daughter and launched us into a web search for more information on Ancient Rome.
