Book Description

FIVE STARS given by TOTALLY BOOKALICIOUS – “The Last Page had me hooked from the start. It’s smart, sassy and very very funny… if you are looking for a quick, light read that is comical and romantic then this will be right up your alley.”

BOOKS, ETC. - “This was a cute, fun novel that was perfect for an end of summer read.”

THE BOOK BAG – “Lacy made her characters so very believable and real that I felt like I was part of this group of women. This is chick lit at it’s finest!”

A COZY READER’S CORNER REVIEWS – “I think any girl can relate to Norah’s story, which makes this title a great chick-lit. If you love fashion, romance, stories with family relationships or dynamics, this one has something for you! It really has a little of everything. Top that with a great writing style and you get The Last Page.”

TEA AND SCRIBBLES – “I devoured this book. All the main characters were very relatable to me. I didn’t ever really feel like an outsider looking in on this world, but someone who was learning about the story and was part of the group. This was a very enjoyable book that I would recommend to others and I am looking forward to more in the series and by Camey.”

Summary:

Twenty-two year old Norah Johnson is at a crossroads and is in desperate need to heal after a highly publicized breakup from her major league baseball player boyfriend.

To escape, she moves to her summer home in The Hamptons with her sister and best friend where she journals, attends therapy and works on her pending clothing line all the while wondering how fast can a heart really heal. Well, it sure helps when part of the healing process involves living in a fabulous summer home on the beach with your sister and absolute BFF. The best psychologist since Good Will Hunting always helps. And then there’s the hottie, much older version of Taylor Lautner look-alike who finds your lost journal, reads it and falls madly in love with you, “the you on paper”, and is set on finding you and making you fall in love with him.

Okay, so this can all really help! But is Norah ready to love again?

The Last Page is a PG, language-free, sex-free, short novel (40k words) suitable for all ages...okay, well obviously not for five year olds. This book is an inspirational light hearted read about living and loving again.

Book One: The Last Page (Norah's story)
Book Two: The Last Name Banks (Chloe's story) out now!
Book Three: The Last Pretense (Maycee's story) due late winter 2014

This series can be read as stand alone novels.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Last Page December 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I liked this book it was a quick and easy read. The story had heartbreak, laughs and some tears. Norah was dating Truett who is a star pitcher for a baseball team untill she finds him with another women who then says she is pregnant. Truett marries the other woman leaving Norah heartbroken and hounded by the paparazzi. Norah goes to spend the summer at her parents summer home with her sister Maycee and best friend Chloe. Norah is a fashion designer and since the breakup is having trouble focusing on her work. Norah starts to see a Therapist and he tells her to write a journal. Norah throws the journal away but some one finds it. Will Norah meet this man who found her journal, will she find happiness again?? All in all a good read...By Loves to Read

1.0 out of 5 stars I hope I didn't pay for this... June 19, 2012
By Emily
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I download a lot of cheap and/or free Kindle books was amazon has them and then get around to reading them later. That being said, 99 cents would have been the most I've would have paid for this book and that would have been too much. The characters are spoiled, insipid, and superficial. OMG, I had a horrible breakup! I'm going to go to my parents vacation house in the Hamptons to recover and totally procrastinate on work! My sister and my friend are going to conme too and we're going to spend the summer doing stupid crap because we don't actually have to work like real people. Then I'm going to sprain my wrist and spend 6 weeks getting over it and everyone's going to obsess over me icing it all the TIME. There's something funny about this hot guy who is totally doing things hot guys have never done in the history of hot guys existing but I have the attention span of a fish... oh doggie clothes! It pains me to see drivel like this published.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unsatisfying May 24, 2012
By MelM
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the most unsatisfying read I've had in a long time. I found the authors style too choppy and jumpy and I got frustrated by it. She liked to start talking about something and interrupt herself going off on tangents and sometimes wouldn't ever go back to the original idea. This left me feeling like somethings were never fully explained. I felt like sometimes she didn't want to put in the effort to explain a situation so she'd mention it briefly and then jump on to something else. Very sloppy writing. Don't waste your money, seriously it's not worth the read.

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. I found myself laughing out loud and then tearing up and then laughing again. Such a fun read. Loved it and can't wait for more books from this series and author.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed despite many others loving it February 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Although this book was engaging and easy to read, the author does not appear to be skillful at plot development nor flow. I found it choppy and unbelievable (not in an absurdist comedic way - rather in an exaggeratedly unrealistic manner). At one point, the protagonists sister indicates that she wrote a book in two days (to be sold on Amazon). I must admit, I had the distinct impression that Lacey Camey did the same with this book. I believe the author has undeveloped talent as a writer and hope she will choose to hone her skills. Otherwise, I would probably not read another book she writes.

1.0 out of 5 stars How did this get published???? January 25, 2013

Was this written for adults? Reads like a seventh grade English paper. Might be considered a good read if you are 12.

2.0 out of 5 stars Shallow read December 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Maybe I'm not used to "Chick Lit" and that's why I was disappointed. I was looking for a light weekend read, and that is what I got with this book. Too light, too short, too underdeveloped. I agree with another reviewer, the sister/boyfriend story line seemed out of place and incomplete. I understand why the leading lady had to miss some clues as to who the new guy was, but they were too obvious and it made her seem just stupid, so that was a disappointment. Over all, a disappointing read.

I'll just stay away from "Chick Lit" if this is what I"ll get.

2.0 out of 5 stars Puh-leeeeeeese! March 9, 2012
By Cici
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I can't accept this is what "chick lit" is supposed to be - it is more like pre-teen. The angst and drama Norah goes through for the first 3/4 of the book - well, just too much. I was just shaking my head, thinking that if this poor, pampered girl is having a breakdown over a man, wait until some real life problems occur. Character development could use a boost - there were too many inconsistencies, and worse, characters who appeared so briefly that you were left wondering why they were even mentioned. The other flaw is a reality check - are there really people like that? Shallow, overly dramatic, but perfect girls are the core of the story, with some other characters as props. But many of the other characters were poorly defined, and often inconsistent.

I gave a 2 star rating in spite of all that, because there is a story idea there, but it needed a lot more work to make a memorable book. It is a 'safe' book for someone who doesn't like to read about sexual escapades and loose morals, and who wants the good guys to 'win' in the end. But nothing memorable.
