5.0 out of 5 stars Rampal's Golden Flute, February 1, 2005
This review is from: Romantic Flute - Jean-Pierre Rampal plays Chopin - variations on "Non Pieta" from Rossini's La Cenerentola / Schumann: Romances for Oboe Op. 94 / Schubert: Variations on "Trockne Blumen" D. 802 / Benda: Sonata for flute and continuo in F major / Telemann: Sonata for 2 flutes No. 4 in E minor; Sonata for 2 flutes No. 6 in E major (Audio CD)
I saw/heard The Great Rampal twice at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. He was fantastic! This is a lovely collection by the (at least at the time) world's greatest flutist (or flautist) who actually had a flute made of gold which he claimed sounded better. This CD can easily be used as terrific background music to produce a relaxed, gentle atmosphere. I find the pieces consistently good. It's a nice assortment of pieces, though there are no Bach pieces. Enjoy!
