Try not to think about the cheesy "Andre Rieu in Tuscany" PBS special. This is a very pleasing program of selections of great romantic melodies, beautifully arranged. Few people are going to purchase a CD of Dvorak's Rusalka just to hear "Song to the Moon" so this is the place to hear it. And it's even better on Rieu's violin than in the original vocal version. Rieu plays perfectly in tune (not always easy in the higher registers of the violin) and has exquisite phrasing that brings out the musicality of even the most over-recorded selections.

Rhieu's arrangements (with Jo Huijts) have hints of "beautiful music" (think Ray Coniff) but only hints, and the result is very tasteful. For example, the piano obligato under the strings on "O mio babbino caro" makes you wish that Puccini had thought of that.

This is a wonderful album to listen to while relaxing and would make a great gift for someone who appreciates classical music but doesn't have specific preferences.

If you haven't bought this CD as yet - do so now. It is truly a haunting, awesome CD. Mr. Rieu makes his violin speak. Just beautiful!

Romantic moments is a breath of fresh air. You don't have to take vitimines to listen to this one. Andre' is all about "If it sounds good it is good" Andre' Rieu should be available on DVD. VHS format does not represent the sound. Buy the CD

This is the perfect album to relax and reflect to. Andre Rieu is a very talented violinist and orchestra leader. He has also done classical music a great service, as he has introduced those people who otherwise would not have given classical music a chance, and made it accessible to all. Who can not be touched by such beautiful music? The booklet includes photos and an introduction by Andre. Highly recommended.

This CD contains many of my favorite tunes. I have owned it for quite a while and have bought 2 of them. I keep one CD in the bedroom to help me fall asleep and one in the living room to help me relax. It always makes me feel better after listening to it. Anybody who likes beautiful music will love it. I would recommend it to anyone. Many thanks to PBS for introducing me to Andre Rieu and his orchestra. Andre Rieu is a master on the violin and makes these famous tunes sound especially wonderful.

While I will admit to playing this CD with candles burning, a bottle of Merlot on hand, and my special someone very close, this CD is not limited to the bedroom. I draw groups to my office when I play it at work. It is soothing and invigorating without being intrusive. I use it to calm down when I am irritated and to stay focused when deadlines are on-hand. The interest it generates is not just from classical music lovers...everyone for classical gurus to heavy metal fans find this CD inspiring. In fact, since I started playing it at the office, I know of at least 4 people who insisted on going on-line to Amazon.com at my desk to order it immediately. This is truly an inspiring CD! (BTW - I have been playing violin since I was 2 years old - 31 years - this man can PLAY!)

Thanks to PBS for introducing us to Andre Rieu and to Amazon for making his music available to us. The music is such a breath of fresh air - he (Andre) obviouly loves what he does - and brings his joy to us in his music. Please keep the Rieu CD's, tapes and videos coming. I want everyone.

I purchased this CD a few months ago after hearing this beautiful music on a PBS TV special. I was so pleased with this CD that I am now purchasing it for another music lover as a Christmas present. Anyone that loves good violin, will certain enjoy this!

After seeing the PBS special, I could not wait to receive this CD. It is transforming. I've found it equally fitting for curling up in a chair while gazing into the fire, or sitting in the sunshine enjoying the woods and wildlife. This CD can instantly remove the stress of the day and send one to a quiet place.

This one is one of my favorites of Andre Rieu. It's very romantic. It reminded me of my honeymoon in Vienna. I like to play it at home a lot. It lifts the spirit and touches the heart. Made me cry one time.
