Let me first explain a few quick things. Unforunately, Naxos makes it slightly confusing, by releasing ten CDs under the title "Romantic Piano Favorites" (Volume 1-10) and also two box sets (each containing 5 of the 10 CDs) labelled Volume 1 and 2. So be carefull what you buy. I advise you to get the box sets, because they're very inexpensive.

Also Naxos should not have calles the collection "Romantic Piano Favorites," since the piano pieces are not all from the Romantic Era (although some are) and they're not romantic in nature (some are dark, others just dance pieces). Rather this collection should be called "Piano Favorites."

Also just because it's an inexpensive Box Set, it doesn't mean the quality is mediocre. In fact, it's great. It was well recorded and the pianists are very talented.

Box set Vol. 1 contains so many great pieces that I wouldn't be able to list them all. Instead I advise you to see the track listings and hear them by looking up the single CDs rather than the box set. But really this is a great collection, I advise you to buy it!
