A French journalist and writer of non-journalistic pieces as well recounts travel by coach, almost always pulled by mules, through Spain. He talks about inns, the food, the heat, especially in the south, and observes how the customs concerning relationships between men and women are different than in France. He actually likes the Spanish customs better than those at home. He is sorry to see the Spanish women dressing like the French ones and giving up their wonderful regional dresses.
