From Library Journal
The Renoufs, who relate in their book how they split up and then got back together over a romantic weekend, tell couples looking for a special place where to go, what to do, and where to stay. Their narrative includes some history, local color, and contact names and numbers for hotels, bed-and-breakfasts, and restaurants, plus annual events and suggestions for other activities such as air tours and river trips. The authors' style is breezy, opinionated, and long-winded, and some choices of location are limited. For example, only 14 pages are devoted to Washington, D.C., and the maps of Virginia and Maryland are very general. The book needs an index, and pricing guidance for hotels and restaurants would have been helfpul. Nevertheless, the authors introduce travelers to lesser-known treasures of Maryland and Virginia.?Janine A. Reid, Jefferson Cty. P.L., Lakewood, Col.
