"Stephanie Queen as a wonderful touch that carries her books to a whole new place. The characters touched my heart and kept me chuckling." --Jeanie Jackson

Big bad bodyguard Joseph Allario keeps his biggest fear a big secret until a so-called cupcake assignment takes him to London to play undercover babysitter to Lady Veronica Douglas. Ronnie made a deathbed promise to her mother to redeem her father’s reputation and prove he was murdered.
Now Joe finds himself falling for Ronnie as he tries to stop the killer before the killer stops her. Even if it means facing the one thing he fears most...

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful! January 12, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Stephanie Queen as a wonderful touch that carries her books to a whole new place. The characters touched my heart and kept me chuckling. Joe sees Ronnie as young and delicate and Queen plays it up with almost touch of Regency in their interaction that is so well off set when Ronnie shocks Joe with her strength and strength of will.

Joe's boss sends him to England to protect a Royal cousin, also cousin to the boss. Babysitting isn't the type of job he normally gets but his isn't one he can turn down. Once he arrives in London Joe is told that his assignment is to pretend to date Lady Veronica, convince her to accept that her father's death was not murder, and get her to give up his free clinic. Royals do not associate with that kind.

He is floored when he meets her and the sparks run two ways, but she is a young and innocent royal and he is a bad*** American. He knows there is no way can have a real romance with her but he has not clue how he is going to work that closely with her and keep his hands off!

From the moment he escorts her home and finds the house vandalized to the very end, the plot races through frustrations and twist and turns while the enemy blends into her world and endangers her life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series April 2, 2014

Stephanie Queen has a knack with words that brings her characters to life and if you know Boston and London, you can see where the action is taking place. The interaction between the characters in this story and the previous stories is well done. Lots of action, suspense, laughs and of course, romance. I recommend this series if you like to read light, well written murder mysteries.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Joe and "Ronnie" April 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Romantics was a kindler, gentler James Bond. I love the characters of Veronica "Ronnie" and Joe. There were a lot of twists and turns with the job of being an undercover bodyguard and the protocol and procedures of being a Royal. This was my first Stephanie Queen Scotland Yard Exchange book, off to find the rest.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun story April 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A fast-paced and humorous novel, set in England, with romance, suspense and political intrigue. The sassy heroine is a member of the royal family and the hero an American undercover agent, not used to protocol or magnificent palace, and way too sensitive to the lovely Briton he’s supposed to investigate-- or protect, but not fall in love with. We are met with a riot of emotions, fear, anger, hope and trust. A lot of conflict and a great sensual tension add to the interesting plot and the appealing characters. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet ANOTHER great novel by Stephanie Queen! December 11, 2013
By stella
Format:Kindle Edition
Well, she has done it again.... a charming series of escapades with character development that is so well crafted one can oonly believe they are real and running about in London and Boston! The interchanges add to the always witty quality to her novels. While one might feel the old royalty meets commoner is overdone, Stephanie's twist will make you think again. Well done.

More About the Author

About USA Today Bestselling Author Stephanie Queen

Once upon a time, there was a young story teller in the kingdom...er, queendom. Then she grew up and... er, no... she never actually did grow up. That's not to say she didn't get old, or more old, but not terribly old, more like middle-aged really. Okay, so she was no longer short and cute.
But really, I always did like to make up stories. Still do. Still live in my own little world--where I'm Queen. Of the Queendom. Hence, the name. (Or whence the name?) Oh, what's in a name anyway.
Now I'm sure you're wondering how I manage to live, but I assure you I am quite competent. Except I couldn't get the crown to actually sit on my head in the picture to the left.  Still learning...
Oh, about me. I love cats. I have a girl cat, a princess technically. Named Kitty. No, I'm serious. Long story. No, I don't have time. Or space.
Okay, so I do not have the inclination.
More about me. I spend hours, days, weeks, months (you get the picture) sitting at my desk, looking out the window of my castle/bedroom and writing complete fabrications in a romantic whimsical vein. Alright, if you insist, you can call the writing quirky. But I do keep myself amused.
Yes, it's true, and entirely believable, I do have a college degree. I'm not saying when I obtained said degree, however.  Go UConn!
Where do I live (for real) you ask? Among the picturesque lake-filled hills and dales (not sure what a dale is) of New Hampshire (the Granite State) (Live Free or Die) (Tough choice, but there's a lot of tough people around here).
What else do I do besides write presumably fabulous romantic stories with noble heroes and amazing, warm heroines who you want to be just like? As if that's not enough, I sometimes deign to teach, cook for the two gigantic very well-muscled sons and try to make sure Kitty doesn't take over the house while I'm away in the Queendom. (That's no joke.  The cat's a control freak.)
I actually have a very rich non-imaginary life. Right at the moment, however, I can't think for the life of me what else it's all about. Maybe I'll think more about it later and get back to you...
