5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best electro releases of 2009
I'm pretty surprised that nobody has left a review for this album but I have to say it's awesome. Hard-hitting bass, fast and pulsating beats, these guys are the future of electro music.
Do yourself a favor and purchase this now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fist pumping, head pounding electro-techno.
As a huge fan of the French masters of electro Daft Punk, Justice, and Ed Banger Recordings, I was intrigued by the sound of The Bloody Beetroots. It is stylistically very similar to Justice especially. Some of the tracks on here like "Awesome" just blew me away. Unlike the dubsteppy sound of that track, the rest of the album is very hard with little respite. If you are...

It's like somebody with a classical music background started making grimy techno beats. Got kind of a heavy metal edge to it too. The two different versions of "Warp" are great for mixing. So if you're a fan of The Prodigy then you will probably like The Bloody Beetroots. The copy I bought was from Warehouse Deals not Amazon. I was disappointed about how dished the records were. I would not recommend getting it from Warehouse Deals. Buy the full price records so that you know you are getting a good quality copy.

Knowing where to look for truly great electronic music can be tricky. So much out there, a lot is mediocre...but this stands out from the rest! These guys have talent and pack a serious punch! If you are even the slightest electro fan this album belongs in your collection. Warp 1.9 and Butter especially will have even your non electro listening friends getting into it. This is a solid album, can't wait for more from these guys!

I'm a huge fan of the Bloody Beetroots. This album has two of my favorites, warp 1.9, and Cornelius. But the other tracks are awesome as well. :D Don't let the amazon info confuse you, this IS 2 vinyl records, even though it only says 1.

I'm a DJ, I'll just throw that out there, I've started messing around with DVS/Vinyl. A few things about this LP bug me, but its up to you to decide if their going to be issues. Firstly, the records are QUIET. The reason behind it is so they can fit more music on a side because they shrink the grooves down, which results in less needle movement, which means less volume. I'm pretty sure it doesn't effect quality just fyi. To counteract this I have to turn up my trim/gain to about 3 o'clock to bring it up to level. Not a big deal, but forgetting to do so might sting a bit. Its understandable that extending this to 3 vinyl records would cost some extra cash, but I would have probably payed extra for that luxury. Squeezing more tracks onto also results in a increased difficulty to drop the needle right where the track starts since its all squished together, its annoying, but I can cope. The other thing that really bugs me is they don't put the track lists on the records!!! They instead give you a square piece of paper that has the tracks listed out. They couldn't even say side A, B, C, or D. Its just listed 1-20. So you have to count out the tracks on the records to figure out where the track you want it.

Is it fair to ding this LP for not being DJ friendly? Idk. My whole negative paragraph might not even apply if your just going to listen to this record. Its 5 stars for the music. :D

5.0 out of 5 stars "I Love the Bloody Beetroots!", June 27, 2010

This CD is such a pleasure, 20 different tracks that are thoroughly enjoyable. And I mean different, the variety is impressive, the creativity enviable. If the CD cover art intrigues you, buy the CD. If the CD cover art puts you off, buy the CD. There is a lot in it. Well done, BBDC77!

Unlike the dubsteppy sound of that track, the rest of the album is very hard with little respite. If you are looking for a head-pounding dose of old-school hardcore, this is a sure fire ticket to bliss. If modern electro-techno gives you a headache, I'd recommend a pass on this intense album; if the album artwork disturbs you, then the album itself will too; otherwise crank it up and enjoy.
