Welcome to ROME: CAPUT MUNDI with two shows that offer a WALKERS HISTORY OF ROME preparing you for a detailed and memorable visit.
It has 108 minutes of video, and while it may cost more than other travel DVDs, do read the CUSTOMER REVIEWS; you will see why this DVD boasts a FIVE STAR rating.
The FIRST PART is 58 minutes. It sets the thematic scale of your visit and touches on all the city's layers: the pre-historic, Etruscan, Imperial Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, and the modern. The SECOND PART at 50 minutes is the WALKING TOUR. It explores the city as organically as a walking visitor might; STEP BY STEP (take a right, take a left) to all the important sites and offers suggestions for EATING AND LODGING.
All cities are layer cakes stacked with detail. Rome is the most deeply layered of all. Few cities offer the WALKING VISITOR such a spectrum of choice. And, in Rome, most of it is free and out in the open! This is how I organized the WALKING TOUR, with three separate tours proposed for you to take over the course of from one to three days.
Included in the DVD case is a specially designed 60-page POCKET GUIDE to carry with you on your tour. It has a centerfold MAP and is coordinated with the 50-minute WALKING VIDEO. Understand, however, that while it is impossible to show everything that Rome offers a visitor, CAPUT MUNDI shows you what you NEED to know. Some museum information is included here, but we do not take you inside museums. Rome is full of museums (the VATICAN MUSEUMS alone would require a 10-hour DVD).
Finally, understand that this DVD has no PUB CRAWLS. The DVD is designed to get you quickly to the core of what Rome is really about. So, if you are ready to begin - ready to get serious about understanding Rome, Capitol of the Ancient World - let ROME: CAPUT MUNDI show you the way.
This DVD was a must, prior to my visit to Rome last year. It really gave me a great insight into the city, and was invaluable when planning my itinerary.Published on May 28, 2013 by Marymary
I believe this one was the one that came with a video to see before traveling. That was an extra that the gift recipient liked.Published on January 4, 2013 by Ruthie
