If you get over your hangups, you might enjoy this.,

I'm sick of reading all these reviews from Skinheads both racist and non (and a Marxist? *shudders*) trying to one up each other on how "Skinhead" this music is or isn't. The fact is, whether you're racist or not, if you like good Oi! music then you will like the music on this album. It accurately reflects the music the "Boneheads" listen too, and if you decided to quit whining about the racist lyrics long enough to actually give this music a chance, you might just think it sounds pretty good! Its good music to go along with a good movie.

Shut it!,

If you are going to listen to this cd or watch the movie, then PLEASE stop whining about White Power skins. Go listen to your awful ska and stay out of good RAC and oi music scenes. I personally don't understand how you can say how much you hate WP skins, but then try to listen to the music or watch controversial movies (and say how good they are!) or read the books. Pick a side already! For those looking for a serious review of the CD:

This is a good album, end of story. Whether you are anti-racist, non-racist, racist . . whatever. Its an awesome album. Its Oi! in style and sound, regardless of the lyrics. If you don't like the racist lyrics, then don't listen to them and enjoy the music. As far as being "true skinhead" music. I think its true enough. The concept of "true" is debatable. As far as I'm concerned there are ignorant viewpoints on both sides of the cult today so all you anti-racist or non-racists can get off your high-horses. Quit whining about how "true" you are and just be a skinhead. Enjoy what this CD has to offer for the most part.

Disappointing BUT 5 tracks make it a must buy,
By A Customer
This review is from: Romper Stomper (1992 Film) (Audio CD)
The CD is disappointing because it features only the 5 songs from the movie but those 5 songs are hardcore. Its a shame they didn't let the band add some new material because the remainder of tracks on the CD are rehashed dialogue from the movie in a an uninteresting format or the same genre of music they played over the ending credits. Plus the movie didn't have all that many memorable lines that the leftist, liberal director would allow onto the soundtrack. Any of the lines that accurately protrayed the skins anger and alienation were cut because of political correctness. Buy it if you liked the movie but remember it doesn't break any new musical ground.....

Overall Good Soundtrack,

A few good Oi songs from the movie (4 complete songs to be exact), though most of the Soundtrack includes various audio clips and background music. Much like the movie, it is certainly dark in nature. If you are a fan of the movie, it is a must have.

Good Stolen Music,

I love how they don't list the bands who actually recorded these songs. That's theft as far as I'm concerned. They know no White Power music band would ever win a court case so they openly steal their material. The music is fantastic, so just watch the movie and look up the lyrics - get the songs from their original albums. Skip this compilation.

Some good songs, but only get it if you're a hardcore fan of the movie.

ALBUM OMISSION,

I found it odd that there was a disclaimer about the Oi! songs on the back and about how they should be viewed as grim items in a history museum...but, the band who did these songs, called Fortress, was not listed...that's odd...the rest of the music is some of the filler score...but 'Dead Nazi March' is fun...

Best Oi! to Date!,
By Gereon Goldberg (Atlantic City, NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Romper Stomper (1992 Film) (Audio CD)
This album certainly reflects the best TV has had to offer for a musically inspired soundtrack. This CD sets our minds into rough and head-pounding, primitive mosh-pit Oi! in harsh and high pitched Aussie accent! It denotes the true mentality of the skinhead with its violent and racist lyrics setting us up for a rather long awaiting chant of "Skinhead! Skinhead! Oi! Oi! Oi!" By far better than anything the sellout trads Dropkick Murpheys has put out to date. I would recommend this CD to every true skinhead! Oi! Sham 69!
