Ron Paul, an eleven-term congressman from Texas, is the leading advocate of freedom in our nation's capital. He has devoted his political career to the defense of individual liberty, sound money, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. Ronald Ernest "Ron" Paul (born August 20, 1935) is an American physician, author, and former politician who served the U.S. Representative for Texas' 14th and 22nd congressional districts. Paul's congressional office of Texas's 14th congressional district includes Galveston, for 1997 to 2013, three terms dating between 1979 and 1985, and an office held for Texas's 22nd congressional district between 1976 and 1977. On three occasions, he sought the presidency of the United States: as the Libertarian Party candidate in 1988 and as a candidate in the Republican primaries of 2008 and 2012. Paul's libertarian views have been associated with the Tea Party political movement, and he is a critic of the federal government's fiscal policies. Topics of particular criticism have been the Federal Reserve, the tax policy, the military–industrial complex, and the War on Drugs.
